Re: Have people forgotten Playtonic are not idiots?

I have to say, despite my personal concerns, the fact that they've made that detailed of a world and what seems to be a multitude of animations of the characters, enemies and a collectable in only 3 months in Unity is actually damn impressive for a team of 7. Just imagine where the progress will be ...

Re: What have YOU pledged? POLL

I pledged for the signed boxed edition, just because having a physical copy signed by some of the team that shaped my childhood was too good to pass up, even if it is a tad bit expensive. That said, I'm glad I set aside a check for the Kickstarter, though everything above the signed box seems a bit ...

Re: There Should Be a Stop N' Swop Stretch Goal

I have a strong feeling it's not a stretch goal because it's a planned feature. God I hope so! I jokingly suggested on the latest update comment section that if they get $10,000,000 they should reveal the secret of stop n swap XP This is more of what I had meant, haha. In all fairness, if amiibo st...

There Should Be a Stop N' Swop Stretch Goal

Whether joke or not, I think it would be pretty cool to see Stop N' Swop integration as part of the stretch goals.

Re: World Theming

I've been giving it further thought, and..... what if the level themes were actually more broad? Like, instead of catering to specific lava/ice/scary/forest etc. worlds, they instead themed themselves by book genres, as we know that books will play an integral part in level selection. For example, H...

Re: How much will YOU pledge?

Oh wow, I thought I was the only one considering putting a stupidly large amount of money on this Kickstarter 0_o As for right now, I was considering somewhere around $500 depending on tiers but now it really depends on rewards and, honestly, my reactions to new information. I'm not going to mince w...

Re: World Theming

*collapsed for thread convenience, see original post* :P 2.For the western world you mentioned that many western levels where dropped ... I thought it would be nice if there would be a western world like in Conker Twelve Tales, a small western town surrounded by canyons, you can enter a saloon and ...

Re: World Theming

In another thread I suggested 10 worlds, 1 tutorial area, 1 hub and 1 finale area like Furnace of Fun 1. Jungle Falls , as shown in the pictures it will be jungle themed with weird islands and waterfalls. Expansions can lead to more watery parts or deep into jungle ruins. 2. Western level . I can't ...

Re: How many levels or worlds...

I would say 10 worlds, 1 small tutorial area (Spiral Mountain), 1 hub and 1 "finale world" (like Furnace of Fun or Cauldron Keep) would be optimal. This is enough for 10 pagies per world plus 20 extra pagies in the hub (One related to each world like Grunty Switches and maybe 10 secret pag...

Re: Solid Lizard

To be honest, this makes me kind of worried. I liked the older games because they were fun platformers, having stealth sections just seems like it could be very jarring and forced for the genre. The only thing I can imagine right now is something akin to that one minigame from DK64 where you had to...

Re: JonTron in Project Ukelele

So, I didn't see anyone else outright say it, but Jon has already been confirmed to do a character voice in the game, it was one of the questions made during the G&A during EGX Rezzed a week ago.

Re: A Good Idea For Playtonic Games Next Game...

I would prefer they do another spiritual successor instead of another 3D platformer. What about a kart adventure? I think they'll probably wait until they have a fairly-full cast of characters before tackling a racing game, purely on the fact that their Playtonic Universe idea is basically a revers...

Re: cheat Codes?

I was actually going to post about this. We've come to an era of gaming that has kind of phased out cheat codes in favor of achievements and trophies, which while fine and all really don't hold the same merit as cheat codes IMHO. In fact, achievement focus has become so popular these last few genera...

Re: Gruntilda's Lair equivalent?

While I would love a hub world, I will admit that the concept art so far makes me feel like the hub will be a bit more generic and expansive than in previous games, which I really hope doesn't end up being the case. I can say now that hub worlds need to be taken VERY carefully and not be too big nor...

Re: Speculation on the new "Gruntilda?"

Considering the tropical feel of the artwork so far, I think it would be pretty cool if Playtonic made a nod to the old "Project Dream" and had the villain of the game be a Pirate in the same vain as Captain Blackeye or even a return to the Giant idea they had early in Banjo Kazooie's deve...

Playtonic Past Museum (Unused Content Room)

One of the things I loved most about old Rareware games was all of the hidden, unused content either found in the cartridge's coding or briefly mentioned in pre-release material (I still have a video of Beta-Banjo stuff up on Youtube somewhere). I'm talking about things like levels like Fungus Fores...
