Re: Factory World?

Totally enjoyed Grunty Industries - from the music, to the darkly toned and gritty atmosphere, to the maddening multi-floor puzzles. The way you enter Grunty Industries is simply awesome, as it made it feel like you had really accomplished something. I also loved the challenge of figuring out how to...

Re: How much money will the Kickstarter reach?

You're correct, I've confused the currency counts.

I'm however keeping my vote of over £4.0 Million as I still feel it to be likely to happen.

Too long have we waited for a proper non-mario 3D platformer. The hype over Yooka-Laylee is already extremely massive and continues to grow.

Re: The Controls! Configurable, WiiU GCN-Pad Support, Etc

JoyToKey is the only good one that I know of, and I've not had any lag problems with it in particular. Technical Stuff: I'm aware of just how much input lag can happen on PC, and on non-realtime operating systems like Windows (any reasonably modern version) there may be fractions of milliseconds of ...

Re: How much money will the Kickstarter reach?

The Kickstarter has reached £2.0 Million already, it's likely to go far beyond and above £4.0 Million.

The Controls! Configurable, WiiU GCN-Pad Support, Etc

Time to cover something rather low-level, if it hasn't already been covered: The Controls! (We might discuss other nuances of the controls system that we expect to play with here, as well.) ------------------------------------------------ As a gamer and an avid game programmer, I wholeheartedly beli...

Re: Got an awesome idea

Then; point taken. I don't have a rebuttal for that. My point was beside that fact, not against it.

No need for us to argue. :)

Re: Got an awesome idea

Perhaps my point is better explained from a different angle: If only pre-existing modders have the technical skill to create mods, then the creativity of customers that happen to be non-modders is limited by the pre-existing modders to perform whatever given edits or creations are desired. This is w...

Re: Got an awesome idea

My thoughts are more along the lines of the level editing, which would be the ultimate end goal of users that desire to mod the game. For what other reason would we want to edit the game? That's effectively what a game mod is doing. Creating modding system = easy. Satisfying customers/gamers that wa...

Re: Got an awesome idea

From my observations, it doesn't really fit their game plan. But I know where you're coming from. Hate to break your bubbles, but you guys seem to underestimate just how much effort this type of thing would take to even begin to include with the game. ---------------------------------------- Since t...

Re: Pc version Frame-rate/optimization

This post is just a knowledge dump, hopefully someone here finds it useful. ;) As far as frame rates in-game go, 60FPS is a great standard to go by. Even better: Measure the maximum possible framerate, and adjust to the highest possible rate... so for a screen that can display at 240Hz we get (240, ...

Re: How big do you want the worlds to be???

Tooie-sized worlds without the expansions, and the expansions adding sizable chunks to the levels. We're talking a modern game here, so I'd expect to see very large levels. Definitely not N&B scale, but starting at Tooie's size and growing would provide plenty of room for interesting things to d...

Re: Running out of Stretch Goals, let's make new ones

I certainly agree on that matter. The more to explore, the better. As long as it's all diverse and interesting. Both Banjo-Kazooie and its sequel had 9 worlds +hub, with the second game having very large ones. Being a spiritual successor, Yooka-Laylee also must live up to its players expecting that ...

Re: Running out of Stretch Goals, let's make new ones

From what I can tell after reading around, the game is currently only considered to be a digital download for consoles. I would absolutely love to see all of the home console versions, perhaps even PC, given a physical in-stores release with box, disc, and manual that we can go and buy. (And as for ...
