Re: Nostalgia in a box

Yes, the appearance of the pagie (and collection) was very satisfying - perhaps even more so than a Jiggy? Mid-way through playing it I just had this moment that was like "wow, I feel like I'm playing Banjo-Kazooie again" and it was the coolest thing. Grant Kirkhope's interactive music als...

Re: Toybox feedback & discussion thread (SPOILERS)

Loved the toybox! A few things worth noting: If I jump into a door, the game will snap me back to the ground and show me walking into it. A simple fix would be to wait for the character to fall before doing the walking animation. One of the particles in the secret room lags like crazy if the camera ...

Re: MAKE SURE PLAYTONIC GAMES RUN AT 1080P@60FPS

Implementing a configurable resolution isn't really much of a challenge. I can run Banjo Kazooie in an emulator in 1080p and it works fine. The real challenge the devs will face to meet this need is in making the game systems efficient, optimizing the rendering performance. Like was said, I'm sure t...

The nature of game saves

There has been discussion on how many save files should be available to the player. However, I ask, how will save files be made, entered, and left? The previous games used autosaves (DK64 had a save button however, which seemed redundant). When one left a game world, everything would be saved, but u...

Re: In-game level editor

Yeah, I was also thinking myself it would be part of an update / DLC in the long term, like Portal's puzzle maker was. I have to agree that the main game should be the priority. Perhaps it would be a good use of left over resources, not necessarily the highest priority.

In-game level editor

I know this idea somewhat overlaps modding, but it is potentially a different category. When I was a kid playing BK, BT, and DK64, I wondered, wouldn't it be cool if I could make my own levels, in game? What I suggest is a simple in game level editor, specific to the game and its mechanics. That way...

Re: World Theming

I think a space themed level would be cool! With varying gravity to mix up the game mechanics! Something we haven't seen in BK, BT, or DK64. Also, a city themed world? Just came up with this one: a canopy based level! A level with an upward dynamic, spend a lot of time high up in canopies with woode...

Teleport Pads

Very excited for this project! Looking at the list of ideas, most of my ideas have already been mentioned. This is one I've seen hasn't been brought up in the main list, that I can see. How about adding teleport pads like those in Banjo Tooie? They can be unlocked upon exploration and would allow qu...
