Re: Kewpie-Jazzy, a Yooka-Laylee inspired Kickstarter game.

I despise cartoon animals with boobs. She looks like one of those cringeworthy OCs you see on DeviantArt. But, even if she didn't have boobs, the design of her just looks yuck. She has a very unpleasant shade of pink, the jean-shorts aren't attractive in the slightest, the fact she has human legs i...

Re: Commercials

I don't remember ever actually seeing a Rare commercial on TV.
I'm actually hard-pressed to remember seeing any video game commercials on TV back then.

Re: My Rare Experience

My first console was an N64, and Banjo Kazooie was the first game I got for it, so I'm pretty much in the opposite boat. Grew up with only their 3D titles. (Okay, not entirely, I did have two of the Game Boy Donkey Kongs (1 and 3). I honestly can't remember if I was aware at the time that they were...

Re: Microsoft to axe Lionhead Studios

I have in the past been a bit of a borderline Microsoft apologist, to some extent, but this kind of thing is really straining my sympathy for them. Fable Legends seemed almost complete, and was actually pretty fun, if not the game Fable IP fans wanted (sounds familiar...) Not sure why they wouldn't...

I lost it at the top comment on one of those videos, which said, "Banjo Kazooie: Revengeance".

Good stuff, thanks for posting links!

Re: Psychonauts 2

I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I will definitely be backing this. So excited. Likewise, after DF9 I'm not giving a penny to this, even though Psychonauts is one of my favorite games of all time. Well, it happened. After 1000-some-odd posts, GrayMagicΓ finally said a single thing I d...

Re: 64-bit Edition

Yeah, I was thinking about that, too. I guess they will change the sticker once they're settled for some official cover art. I don't really think that they'll take a picture from the Kickstarter, which you saw hundred of times over and over when reading something about Y-L for the official box art ...

Curse my workplace for blocking Imgur for being a "file sharing" website. (I wish I was kidding.) It's funny, because <anything>.wikia.com sites are also blocked for being "social media" sites, but Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit aren't blocked.... It's probably awesome, though.

Re: Should Playtonic only make platformering games?

I would love to see their take on a Starfox Adventures style game. I'm pretty sure the reason that game got so much flak is the same reason N&B did: it wasn't what the fans of the IP wanted. But honestly, Starfox Adventures was a Zelda game in all but name. Would've been nice to see what they c...

Re: Which version to choose?

I picked the Wii U version because that just feels right to me for nostalgia's sake, and I need something to play on the thing, but I plan on also getting the Xbox One version because that's my primary console currently, and "mah acheesements, you guys!1!1".

Re: [Wii U] Super Mario Maker

It also kind of baffles me how people on a site for a game like Yooka-Laylee wouldn't like the Mario IP, considering it's basically the source where Rare got all their ideas for Banjo and the like. Okay, so there are two reasons I hate Mario. 1. I feel like Nintendo puts way, way too much emphasis ...

Re: Kameo - Elements of Power

I need to get back to this game, maybe in Rare Replay. I picked up a used copy of it a while back and started playing it, but at the time it seemed kinda janky and I only made it a few hours in, over one or two play sessions, before moving on to other games, and I just never got back around to it. ...

Re: "Multiplayer Ideas" from my 8year old brother

I love cats too. Now onto the multiplayer. I have no interest. I am an adult that plays games on my own. I no longer sit round the tv with 3 friends and 4 controllers. The multiplayer in games like tooie, dk64 and cbfd no longer appeal to me, I'll never use them. Same. Love cats, don't care about t...

Re: [Wii U] Super Mario Maker

I'm not really interested in it. I'm sure I'm missing out on something really great, and all that, but I really don't like the Mario IP. User-Friendly Level Editor: The Game might be kinda fun, but it sounds like the kind of thing that the novelty would wear off quickly for me, and then it's still ...

Re: What happened to A Hat in Time?

I keep forgetting this game is a thing. I remember hearing about it way back when, then hearing about (and promptly forgetting about before backing :( ) the Kickstarter, then forgetting about it again until seeing this thread. One of these days I'll pick it up. Wish there was a way to get just game...

I'm assuming the Banjo hands are already claimed, but if you have any pins left, I would love to have one!
