A vocal minority griping about Jon being removed isn't going to affect the games sales that much at all. It was a vocal minority that got him removed in the first place. I've heard that the game has already lost around 3000 pre-orders on steam alone. The decision to remove him is going to do far mo...
How Playtonic and N17 Goofed I just want to say that people should at least watch the video that's in your signature. I never thought about the further hypocrisy with backers who are fans of JonTron asking for refunds and then not getting them. Though I honestly feel it's way too late for refunds a...
Doubt the game will flop over a mumbling voice being removed. The problem that arose is not about the voice itself. I did not know or care about Jontron being in the game until this controversy arose. The far bigger issue is that Playtonic made a very clear political stance and basically announced ...
After the experience with Microsoft, it's hard to see them allowing Playtonic to be absorbed into another company. If the game bombs, I'd imagine the company being disbanded and everyone going their separate ways. I wouldn't hazard a guess as to whether the game will do well or not. Likes of a youtu...
I really wish I could get my money back for backing this game... Oh wait, I have an idea! Playtonic, I do not support mass immigration and am able to recognize facts and statistics, so since I'm a threat to diversity and you don't want to be associated with anyone who has a different political opin...
I don't think there is any discussion to be had here; I am so tempted to lock this thread. Playtonic decide who does and doesn't contribute to their game. It was JonTron's privilege to be offered a minor voice mumbling role, and it was by no means guaranteed for him. He lost his chance by saying th...
I wish Playtonic would just throw in a generic disclaimer to the effect of: "People of various backgrounds and beliefs were involved with the creation of this game; none of them necessarily reflect the views of Playtonic Games." That's a compromise I'd be perfectly content with.
If you check the kickstarter page, there are quite a few people demanding refunds. It seems Playtonic may have very well bumped into a bigger hornet's nest than the one it was originally trying to avoid.
As someone who backed the game on day one and has been looking forward to it ever since, this turn of events is very unfortunate. I believe in the tolerance of ideas from all across the political spectrum and am repulsed that Playtonic would remove a voice actor simply because of his views. If Playt...
I'm going to post my comment I made on KS to the forums. It might help some people understand a bit better. I can understand the frustration and disappointment with the Wii U version being cancelled. But you have to bear in mind; you didn't BUY Yooka-Laylee. Kickstarter isn't a shop. You pledged mo...
I will greedily gobble up any pictures, music or other game asset that Playtonic chooses to show. I'm looking forward to this more than any other game.
I had my first experience with the game by trying it on Rare Replay earlier today. I like the graphics, music and general aesthetic of the game, but the gameplay itself get repetitive and dull. I'll probably finish it eventually, but in small pieces at a time.
