Re: Toybox feedback & discussion thread (SPOILERS)

Dunno if this is the place for bugs (or if this is already known) but I found a bug with the crouch jump where if you slide off a platform when you crouch then jump when you hit the floor below and hold A you jump twice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zq2L4d1VogY&feature=youtu.be Video of bug O...

What did you think of Nuts and Bolts?

Now that we have a bunch of rare fans all in one place I thought it'd be a fun idea to talk about the supposed black sheep of the banjo-kazooie franchise. Nuts and bolts disappointed many people but looking back what did you actually think of it? Personally, I twas of course disappointed in the lack...

Re: Kickstarter demographic issue: kids don't go to kickstar

It'll get a lot of money from the people who played rare games as kids (20-30 years old) which are the kind of people with disposable income. I guess the interesting thing will be how other kickstarters aimed towards a younger audience fared. Most kickstarters that got smashed are ones based on nost...

Re: If there's a beta (Early Access), would you play it?

I enjoy early access games to help the devs with bugs, doesn't usually bother me that I'm spoiling anything. Also playing the game asap is always nice :p

Re: Online Multiplayer?

Nuts and Bolts actually had decent multiplayer so if they can find something outside of minigames it might be alright. But as others have said a single player only experience is fine. Coop would be cool though.

Re: What's the perfect balance of collectables?

Yeah, as others have said BK already perfected this. In fact, I'd love to see the arcade-like "note score" system return - much of BK's challenge and longevity stemmed from that mechanic, since you actually had to master the gameplay to get all the notes - you couldn't just do blind suici...

Re: Other potential genres

Another kart racer with hub world like Diddy Kong Racing. That game requires a spiritual successor almost as much as BK imo Absolutely! Diddy Kong Racing is still my favourite kart racer ever! Mario Kart 8 is great, one of the most beautiful game on the Wii U, and fun, but it's just a racing game.....

Re: Do you think there's more than 2 playable characters?

Could be a banjo tooie mumbo-esque segment or two with other characters. Or like Spyro 3 (I think) with certain recurring challenges.

Re: Other potential genres

It will be very interesting to see what other genres Playtonic Games have planned. I could definitely see a kart-esque racer game work very well. But I'd very interested to see if they can do other genres like shooting games such as Perfect Dark or fighting games such as Killer Instinct. Well they ...

Re: What you want to see

Although it might be a bit tough legality wise, a level called Rareworld like Nuts 'n' Bolts' banjoland. A silly idea but it'd be fun to do challenges based on old rare franchises and would be a cool nod to the past games everyone loves. Who knows, maybe microsoft will feel nice one day.

Re: Your Favorite Rare Games

I think a lot of people will say Banjo-kazooie and I'm no different :p Banjo-kazooie is my favourite game of all time. Apart from BK, DKR and Jet Force Gemini were also great. Not played JFG in a long time though.

Re: What's the perfect balance of collectables?

I kind of liked Mario 64 in terms of how many collectables you needed to complete the game vs complete the game 100%. Letting you finish the game but leaving some of the collectables for the hardest challeneges gives two distinct accomplishments. The 70/120 stars was a good ratio I think. Means they...

Re: Please layer in secrets.

Backtracking usually gets a bad rap but going back to old levels with newly learnt abilities is really cool in these kinds of games. Mario 64 and, of course, banjo kazooie did this extremely well. More secrets like dragon kazooie would be cool too for those who explore to find them.

Re: Kickstarter Packages

A physical copy is my main want. Just something to have on my shelf rather than just a digital down. The N64 replica cartridge would be fantastic, and maybe an old style instruction booklet with artwork and stuff rather that these 1 sheet things you get these says.
