Re: Nintendo Switch support for Yooka Laylee?

I expect it will be on the Switch.

My question is; can I change the console I want Yooka-Laylee on from the Wii U to the Switch?

Or, considering it'll be a digital copy of the game. Will it work on both? As it will be tied to the Nintendo eShop.

Re: Yooka Laylee for NX?

Well, if this is releasing on the Wii U eShop I think it will carry over to the NX. So they might not even have to port it to the NX is designed to support Wii U eShop games. Just make it for the Wii U and it will work on the NX.

Top-Down view muted the sound effect when I played. Isometric is best.

This is a fun idea! I would also like it if the music tempo also increased when moving fast.

Re: Let's Talk Swimming

I like the sink/rise mechanic but would also like some button to press for faster swimming (maybe even make it so if you press the button with good rhythm/timing you go even faster!). Something about the resistance of the water and objects don't feel right to me.

Re: Donkey Kong 64 - collectables vs. your opinion (please vote and discuss)

Yeah there were too many collectables but DK64's biggest issue are the extremely difficult and sometimes broken minigames (*cough* Beaver Bother)

This game fits all the criteria. It's also pretty good too! I remember loving this game!

Re: New Kirkhope Music Snippet

Sound like Banjo Kazooie Grant. I am fine and all with that but I hope you are trying to give Yooka Laylee it's own personality too. I know it's too early to tell since we've basically heard nothing yet but there needs to be a balance between familiarity and something fresh. Based on these few secon...

Re: Could Yooka-Laylee finally beat Donkey Kong 64's record (please)?

There's a reason why DK64 is regarded as the weakest of Rare's N53 platformers. It went overboard with the collectables. Like REALLY overboard. I actually like Dk64 but it's definitely more grindy than the Banjo games. I think it goes like this; Banjo-Kazooie was great but was too short and could ha...

Re: Alternate names for the apparent "N64 Shader" mode

I like 64-bit mode.

I would go for my own choice and say 'BK Mode'.

They had DK Mode in several of their games (notably Gondeneye 007) which made everyone's heads massive. So BK Mode can be for 90's era shaders (obviously stands for Banjo-Kazooie Mode).

Re: The Possible Return of Interconnected Worlds?

This is why I PREFER Banjo-Tooie to Kazooie. The world felt authentic and connected. Whereas Banjo-Kazooie had independent levels that were completely separate from the hub world as well as other levels (which is fine); I enjoyed the little teases into future levels (and re-visiting previous levels ...

Villain Ideas

I was thinking of what the villain could be for this game. How about an old Bard? Each of the worlds is a story of one of his adventures and he could narrate to Yooka and Laylee in poetic rhymes and alliteration (not unlike Grunty). Instead of a lute or mandolin he could use a ukulele? Maybe he got ...

Re: Dynamic Music

This is a must I think! I really like the dynamic music use din BK and BT (walk near the entrance to any world in Tooie to hear the music seamlessly change to a variation of the theme based on the world). It would definitely make it feel like a spiritual successor.

Re: lives or no lives?

No lives! They are meaningless. It's a useless collectable that should be replaced with something better or taken away completely. Banjo-Tooie I felt struck the perfect balance with collectables. Banjo Kazooie had many but because it's much shorter it didn't get too tiresome. Donkey Kong 64 went waa...

Re: What did people dislike about BK/BT?

Banjo-Kazooie - It was too short. The levels are actually fairly small and can be completed in an hour. Banjo-Tooie - Perfect platformer! My favourite ever. Only thing I disliked was that there were TOO many moves now and some were only used once or twice. I LOVE the backtracking to fully complete l...
