Re: So, it gets on Wii U. Which controller?

I'd be glad if they supported the Remote+Nunchuck, just as an option, without motion. Just stick + A / B and whatever they can sneak on the Z + D-Pad and such. It would be convenient and more economical for the co-op and multiplayer modes, even if it's not the most comfortable choice for everyone. M...

Re: Questions regarding a port for the Nintendo 3DS

The 3DS might be the only successful handheld in the market right now, but developing Yooka Laylee 3DS while working on the main game would be overkill. It would be like making two games at the same time.
Yes it would sell well, but we will have to wait a bit until they finish the first game.

Re: Streaming Ukulele development?

I'd rather have text interviews about how the game is going, like the ones that they've been doing so far, than video streams. Streaming development could spoil stuff, or just put too much pressure on the team.

Re: Do you think there's more than 2 playable characters?

More characters could make the game worse, for example: I would honestly have enjoyed DK64 a lot more if Donkey Kong was the only playable character. Or if I could change characters instantly with the L&R buttons, a bit like DKC. Having to travel to swap characters felt like a chore, easily the ...

It would be ok to do it as long as it's funny and as long as they don't restrict themselves because of it.

Re: Genders of the main duo

I don't think that stating the gender or making it a plot point would be wise. I mean it's ok if they do have it mentioned in a manual or bio page, but it shouldn't be important; for example in BK I spent years wondering if Kazooie was female or male. However, either way it wouldn't change any of th...

Re: Online Multiplayer?

I prefer splitscreen multiplayer than random online, if they do add online I think it should be designed for a small ammount of people, and allow you to invite your friends to the game. What would be really good is a system like Super Street Fighter IV, it lets friends connect even if the max ammoun...

Re: Teleport Pads

If Banjo Tooie is anything to go by, teleport pads would be a necessity. However, a Landmark system like Xenoblade Chronicles would be a better option imo (especially if the worlds are even bigger than BT). EDIT: For those who don't know, the landmark system works like this: when you go exploring t...

Re: Well hidden secrets

And don't make it where you get pagies in these places, just put something cool. Make SnS. Am I crazy here? Am I the only one who feels this way about BK, and who wants it to be in Ukulele? Discuss. Sorry if I didn't convey it that well, I'm tired. I agree, games like these make you keep on playing...

As long as they don't put save states, and the warps/checkpoints are reasonable, it would be fine.

Re: 60 fps

Limiting the framerate can have advantages when coding, some things can depend on frame-by-frame code. Developers choose 60 because it's a standard. Also having more than 60 frames isn't always useful, if your framerate is jumping from 50 to 140 every second, it will probably "feel" jitter...

Re: Creative use of music and sounds?

I'd be glad if they had the music changing during the level like in classic Banjo. I hope they would go beyond though, using new tech, and try to implement the sound effects to the mix. Like how Wind Waker did when you'd slash enemies, or in any way they could get sound effects to blend with the mus...

Re: No blob shadows? 3D platforming needs them.

Sonic Generations solved this by forcing the "top-down" shadow in sonic only, while leaving everything else with realistic angled shadows, it works well. That didn't stop me from still trying to mod it to disable the top-down shadows though, and in the end it was still perfectly playable. ...

Re: About the artstyle.

Watching the screenshots and the short video, I think the grass is so green (or at least a green so close to Yooka's skin) that it makes the chameleon blend in and hard to track. Well unless it was intentional since it's a chameleon... http://i.imgur.com/KwoLT73.png I have nothing against the new ar...

Re: Amiibo stretch goal?

the game is going to be digital only right? I think distributing amiibos would be a bit complicated, mock up figures would be good though, as collectors items maybe. They could include something under them that the WiiU game could scan anyway, as long as it's non-important to the game and just part ...

Re: What kind of an audience of gamers is here? Tell me about yourself.

These days I'm obsessively playing Story of Seasons (a Harvest Moon game without the Harvest Moon name, for those who don't know), and it's taking up most of my life. I love it. I'm looking to buy this one as well. Toybox inc. keeps making good games no matter what. 7. Super Castlevania IV This one...

Re: Wii U/3DS Cross-Buy?

Unless Playtonic would be capable of setting up and maintaining their own cloud save servers for the game (or could pay someone else to do it), there wouldn't be any way to have a Wii U version of the game and a 3DS version of the game use the same save data. At that point, they might as well make ...
