Re: will backers get the game slightly early?

A friend of mine who is currently in Texas just received their physical copy. So hopefully it won't be much longer now. Also, I've just checked my backer kit today and it now says "Shipped" and "Rewards are shipped" under Status. Scrolling the cursor over the "Rewards are sh...

Re: Is there an official method of sending Playtonic a crash report?

Ah yes, that's the same error message it gave me. I don't believe it closed for me either.

EDIT: I've just read the new forum notice on how to report bugs, and have submitted the crash logs to the appropriate email address.

Is there an official method of sending Playtonic a crash report?

I'm thoroughly enjoying the game so far, but while I was playing around with the display resolution settings I managed to do something that caused the game to crash when I quit. An error popup window appeared stating this, and indicated that a crash log had been created and that I should let the dev...

Re: Why is the art book SNES style and not N64 style?

Could it be that they based it on the PAL color design for N64 games?

A quick ebay search turned this up.

Re: will backers get the game slightly early?

Well I just checked my backerkit and I now see a new entry in the digital downloads sections called 'Digital Deluxe Manual & Artbook' with a status of Pending . A note next to it says "Digital Reward is not yet distributed." So it's coming! :D No entry for the digital game code yet tho...

Re: will backers get the game slightly early?

According to a tweet that Playtonic made today, it looks as though backers may indeed get their codes sent to them before the 11th. https://twitter.com/PlaytonicGames/status/849368703762386945 "They're coming this week!" Don't know if that means the codes will allow you to download and act...

Re: I've Played Yooka-Laylee: My Thoughts (Spoiler-free)

40 hours sounds like a nice amount of playtime to me. Out of curiosity, how would you describe your play style with regards to the time you completed it in? Did you play with the intent of finishing it in as timely of a fashion as you could for review purposes, or did you play at a more casual pace...

Re: I've Played Yooka-Laylee: My Thoughts (Spoiler-free)

A very well written review, and the only one I've actually read. Thank you for making it truly free of spoilers! :) 40 hours sounds like a nice amount of playtime to me. Re: Early reviews

This tweet from Grant Kirkhope pretty much sums it up. https://twitter.com/grantkirkhope/status/849355136132624384 If a lot of the negative things pointed out in reviews are in regards to old-school mechanics and noises instead of voices, then Playtonic has indeed come through and created the kind o...

Re: POLL: Playtonic Kart Racer + Online Multiplayer

My ideal kart racing game would include both online and local multiplayer, and the option of racing against computer controlled players as well. Mine too. I also think it would be great to expand the online functionality to allow friends to join a group and play together against the rest of the wor...

Re: POLL: Playtonic Kart Racer + Online Multiplayer

These days I think it would be very important that a kart racing game have online multiplayer. Racing games by their very nature are well suited for multiplayer, so making it as easy as possible for someone to find other people to race against is important. Local couch-based multiplayer is fun and s...

Re: Thank you Playtonic

I concur! It really seems like it was just a few months ago that a friend of mine sent me an email with a link to the video of Playtonic announcing the project and a link to the Kickstarter. That all of the members of Playtonic were even available to come together at the same point in time and decid...

Re: Poll: Will You Avoid Spoilers?

No spoilers for me, thank you. :D The feeling of starting up this game for the first time with basically no idea about what I'm going to encounter is priceless. Sure I've seen a fair amount of footage from the first level, but I still know next to nothing about where all the challenges and collectab...

Re: Reviews: expectations and what attention will you pay them

While I may see some of the scores or grades that reviews give the game at a glance, I won't be reading any of them before I play the game. The Toybox and a handful of trailers & gameplay videos are enough to prove that this will be an enjoyable and somewhat retro-flavored game for me.

2) How can I learn if my PC (well, my brother's) can even run the game? That'll help us decide in the event the Switch release is delayed if we even want to opt for the Steam code. According to the Steam store page, these are the current minimum requirements for the full game. MINIMUM: (PC) OS: Win...

Re: Not very happy

Concerning the £20 physical upgrade price: I don't know what Playtonics personal reasons are for the exact price of the upgrade from digital to physical, but it does seem to be similar to the price difference between digital and physical Kickstarter tiers. Given that the upgrade to physical is Kick...

Re: Toybox update

I just noticed that today Steam released a 167.1 MB update for the Toybox. I don't see any patch notes anywhere, so I'm not really sure if much of anything was noticeably changed. I played it for a couple of minutes but it seemed the same to me except that the opening titles now say Q2 2017 (April ...

Re: Making the Switch

Out of curiosity, if WiiU wasn't an original possibility, do you think the kickstarter would have been as successful? I don't think so. It was people who played the classic Rare games of the 90s that hyped up the idea of those types of games coming back. And those people played on Nintendo consoles...
