Re: Not quite Playtonic, but Banjo N&B anyone?

Yes, I was on those old forums, and I used to play Nuts & Bolts. And I used to enjoy it. I 100%ed it quite a few times. I think it's the main reason I went for an Xbox 360, and luckily that meant I ended up getting the Xbox Live Arcade ports of the originals.

Re: So, about "Playtonics" and the 4th Wall...

In Banjo-Tooie they constantly say they are characters in a game, and they keep referring to "Banjo-Kazooie", saying things like, "X happened while you were playing Banjo-Kazooie". They even refer to music changes. But it's always very humorous and never gets annoying, for me. Co...

Re: I want this game to have awesome gameplay physics.

Banjo-Tooie had much more freedom of movement - it was all a lot smoother and freer. You could control moves in a larger variety of ways.

Re: My music :O

Great stuff Rasmusic, it's great how you've been able to incorporate feedback like that. I like the major / minor changes in Hidden Town and the unconventional structure. I definitely prefer the second version. :) EDIT: Just listened to Fiery Castle. Like the angular melodies and the sense of fun, e...

Re: My music :O

Only listened to Hidden Town. I can hear the Kirkhope influence. It's quite nice as the structure isn't as formulaic as you often hear with those Kirkhope-like songs. The percussion is a bit loud for me during a lot of it, and did you mean the minor / major clash at 0:58 (and again at 1:10 etc) with...

Re: Donkey Kong 64 - collectables vs. your opinion (please vote and discuss)

I got bored of the game at a certain point, I think I just got lost with so much stuff to do.

May give it another go, once I find the right cable for my N64.

There were so many platformers, where did they all go?

Also, thanks guys for making me want to buy Croc again...

Used to play Croc (nostalgia! - I've still got a PS1 so maybe I'll buy it again), Spyro series, Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie....

Re: So, about "Playtonics" and the 4th Wall...

The game is GOING to break the 4th wall. Every RARE game did. It's part of the charm. How could you possibly not know this? DK64 being tedious or not has nothing to do with my statement. Yep. There is no fourth wall in these games, it was demolished in 1985 when the Stamper brothers founded Rare. :...

Re: So, about "Playtonics" and the 4th Wall...

I played the sequel in a McDonald's when I was 13 and thought the venue suited it. What's your point again? That the Banjo-Kazooie series constantly broke the fourth wall and referred to itself as a game full of characters. I haven't played Conker so I don't know what that game is like in terms of ...

Really? Banjo Tooie never, ever shuts up about being a game, and being the sequel to Banjo-Kazooie. Maybe play that and see???

Both of you should have won a prize,
But Scrubber was first in my eyes.
Go on Scubber, share a pic,
Just make sure you do it quick!

Re: Music for Yooka-Laylee

It's very emotive (& desolate and barren) so IMO would be good either for story purposes or for the music that surrounds the portal to the final boss or something, rather than for a level. Not that it wouldn't work in a level!

I like the sound design - really quite atmospheric.

Re: DK Vine: "Banjo-Tooie is a goddamned masterpiece"

Enjoyed reading it but didn't agree with any sentiments that banjo tooie is about how dark and depressing the world really is. Whilst it's darker than banjo kazooie, despite everything good wins in the end, Klungo leaves the evil side, the deaths of George and Mildred although horrible turned out go...

It didn't take me long to find this.

That was on the original Kickstarter page but whether it's changed now they've got so much money, I don't know.
