Re: Controls: Toybox VS recent public demo

Would like to know this as well! If any of you have played the demo, please share! Pretty sure the public demo is the same one shown to press over the summer, so it may not be that far-on from the Toybox and I would somewhat doubt there was time for any/much of the feedback to be considered. From of...

Re: General Chat (& Random Thoughts)

Sounds like you'll miss Janeway, Robert Picardo, Seven of Nine and the crew. Pretty far into TNG, DS9 and Voyager but haven't actually seen any of them in their entirety, yet. Do you have a favorite Star Trek series? The I.T. Crowd ... haven't heard of it. May need to look into it eventually. I've ...

Re: NINTENDO SWITCH

Definitely potential to market this to college students / people on the go. Really cool how systems can link up. Overall Ninty is blending traditional premium gaming (for lack of a better term) into today's more portable, mobile gaming environment. I do hope there's still gyroscopic controls for the...

Re: Every transformations in each world ?

Yeah, Glitterglaze Glacier appears more fairy-tale themed and has drawn comparisons to Frozen. This level's transformation is a Snow Plow -- a municipal snow removal vehicle, that is. I can see what yooka dragon means when he says it doesn't fit in the same way other transformations do. I'd like tra...

Re: General Chat (& Random Thoughts)

Favorite TV Show? I a bit of a Trekkie (I like the Original Series, TNG, and Voyager). I absolutely love Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra. Big fan the American The Office. Ooh I've been watching Star Trek: Voyager over the last year and love it! I'm sad because I'm about to finish it ...

Nintendo's Big Reveal

Well, the Wii U era sure has been rough for a number of reasons (quality games not one of them)... now comes some big news. In a matter of hours Nintendo will introduce their upcoming home console to the world. Lets discuss what's 'next.' https://twitter.com/nintendoamerica/status/788900063833493504...

Re: Number of Worlds

Nor I... in my head fixing a totals screen seems uncomplicated, yet (based on what they said prior) 5 worlds seemed to be where they were at, around. Could just be the complex jaggedness of an in-progress game (maybe they had placeholder content for a 6th world they hadn't fully deleted at the time)...

Re: Every transformations in each world ?

Could be possible, even-although abilities seems world specific. Snow plow may not be able to do much in a jungle or swamp. The "Yooka-Bush" just bounces around and sprays out pollen! I'm sure they could find amusing cross-world uses for these, but not the most natural assumption that they...

Surprised you missed that! It's an interesting piece of info. Here's Andy R's response: https://mobile.twitter.com/AndyPlaytonic/status/783337165031936000?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw In reply to the original post: You are persuasive, but cuttently still believe there will be 5 worlds. Re: Swamp Level - Confirmed?

I appreciate your thought-out theories and observations (you made a Wiki, that takes chutzpah; and like you say "hard to know," and it IS fun to speculate, of course) ...but this is ludicrous. Hivory Towers is absolutely not one of the games five worlds. A) The hub has always been treated ...

Re: Should Yooka-Laylee get the Pokemon Go treatment somewhere down the line?

Not sure it would work, but of course I'd love someone make an effort at an AR-style game based on N64 style platform / collectathons. I'm trying to think of how the gameplay of BK/YL would translate. Picking up Quills doesn't seem as exciting as finding cute Pokemon, though it would be a fun notion...

Re: Should Yooka-Laylee have a leveling system?

It's probably best this game stays focused on collectibles to unlock those things you mentioned. In this sort of game you *typically* grow stronger, i.e. "level up," by exploring. In Yooka combat moves can be purchased from Trowser with the Quills you find, Playtonics you purchase will lik...

Re: Who's played Shovel Knight?

My initial enjoyment was a strong 8.5/10 Over time its attention to details (like those in the posts above) and personality/charm have made it a perennial favorite. Stellar post-release content, too. Plague of Shadows felt unique and it was so cool to experience a version game world finely tuned to ...

Re: Yooka Laylee playable at EGX 2016!

Hmmm... There are pros and cons to how they're streamlining collectibles. Maybe a bit tacky/antiquated, but I have nice memories of how the N64 games were filled with all sorts of different things you can grab. Even a more recent game like Zelda Skyward Sword had ores and tumbleweeds and bugs and di...

Re: No plans for NX

^ I think they meant a Nintendo investor meeting

Not sure it's even doable for them since the current multiplat release already demands lots of effort.

It would be nice, since launch titles enjoy increased exposure and buyers are more open to different types of games!

Re: Yooka Laylee playable at EGX 2016!

Firstly: hadn't seen that video. I did not know there was a second PS4 demo/interview. Secondly: I wonder about the games length. The original goal was bigger than BK. Gav commented on the large scale of the game in the Sunday EGX session. Five worlds may not seem like much, but they may more than d...

Re: Polishing stage

I think that's absolute it. There are pros and cons to the enhanced audio-visual clarity Yooka enjoys.

Relatedly, they've talked about how the gobbledegook was sorta out of necessity on the N64, but has been a sort of challenge to emulate with modern equipment.

So what is being said here is that controversies will inevitably arise, as we all have different subjective opinions; yet we are all want for Yooka to be the best game it can. Bearing this in mind, we should try to be respectful. :)

Re: Polishing stage

I think what's key with regards to to recurring characters like Puzz and Trowzer is the presentation and world-building aspect. It's not that they have to go the route of Banjo-Kazooie, but something other than the characters just sort of standing there. Mario Galaxy, for example, had the Captain To...
