Re: Poll: What do you want to see more of?

From now until the game's release, I'd like to see some new music, the co-op mode and multiplayer modes, and maybe a couple of the arcade games. One or two more standard trailers would be nice too, but I wouldn't want them to give too much of the game away.

Re: What's your Favourite Rare Game?

Yeah, I get you couldn't list all of Rare's games in a single poll, but maybe you should have replaced Jetpack with "other" or something. On a forum dedicated to the spiritual successor of two specific video games from Rare, you really should be expecting two answers to stand out from the ...

Yeah, I can see a lot of people scrolling down a bit and going "Ooh, Final Fantasy 15!" and voting it without scrolling to the bottom. Hopefully it still manages to get pretty high.

Re: What's Your Favourite Donkey Kong Game?

Donkey Kong 64, but Donkey Kong Country 2 comes pretty close. I never really played DK64 as a kid for some reason, but after giving it another shot a few years ago, I fell in love with it. After playing Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie nonstop for 10 years, I guess it was a very fresh experience for me. The ...

Re: Hat in Time doesn't feel as nice as the Toybox

In my opinion, A Hat in Time is to Super Mario 64 as Yooka-Laylee is to Banjo Kazooie. Mario's movement was very high risk high reward in SM64 with all the special jumps and tricks that he could do, while Banjo's moveset was a lot more simplistic. I've seen people do incredible maneuvers in A Hat in...

Re: North American Localization

I can't say I agree with you, OP. I think there's a million better things they could do with their time than removing a few extra U's from their words. No offense, OP, but "think of the children" has rarely ever been a good reason to change anything Op never came back to check his answers ...

Re: That one Rare title you hate?

Well I mean "hate" is a strong word, but... Despite very much being interested in Yooka-Laylee, loving the Banjo games, and growing up with an N64, I'm not huge on the nostalgia angle. It certainly exists for me and the Banjo games, but I think it happens to line up where it is a game I h...

Re: Ball Roll Suggestions

I was working up a response to BanjoThreeie up there, had it all typed out, but it got deleted through a bad connection on my end when I pressed "preview"... But it's probably for the best, because we're arguing on a fundamentally different planes of perspective here, and it was getting a...

Re: Ball Roll Suggestions

What games don't put handicaps on the players? How much fun would Super Mario 64 be if you didn't have to carefully plan and time your jumps to win the game? How much fun would Banjo Kazooie be if Banjo had a pogostick to where he could land every single jump perfectly? Games are based on handicaps....

Re: Ledge grabbing

The game's way too far in development to implement this ability. It'd take way too much time to rebalance the jumps. I can see why they decided not to go with it, though. It was a huge pain in Super Mario 64 and, to a lesser extent, Banjo-Tooie, when you tried walking off a ledge only to end up turn...

Re: Ball Roll Suggestions

Here's the impression I'm getting from these posts: 1) Players want one movement mechanic that is superior to all others. Thinking about which mechanic to use is not desirable. 2) If they do think about which they'd prefer, and the game prevents their preferred option, they get upset at having to d...

Re: Toybox Experience: Should There Be An Ability To Grab Objects?

I think they should do it exactly like that minigame in Mario Party 7 where a pushing animation is played when you're running into the ball, but you aren't exactly locked to it.

Re: Ball Roll Suggestions

I actually rather like the lack of precision. It just comes with the move, and encourages mastery of the Reptile Roll. If it were more precise there'd be no reason to ever walk, since it'd be so vastly superior. I found myself rolling most of the time anyway. I completely agree. In the Banjo games,...

Re: Toybox release date!

Getting the game on Steam is the best way to prevent pirating, but it's probably pretty hard to do that. Maybe they can include activation keys that stop working after redeeming them 5 times? That way it could allow sharing between a few computers, but would be pretty hard to pirate.
