Re: Less Hope For Yooka Laylee?

What have i got to be cautious about? I payed next to nothing for a game that i WILL recieve next year. What's happened with mightyno9 thats pissed people off? Honestly, I think the game looks pretty fun. A lot of people don't like the graphics, though, which look nothing like what the Kickstarter ...

Even sooner than that, you can expect final, final Toybox release info in the coming days. Stay tuned... https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/playtonic/yooka-laylee-a-3d-platformer-rare-vival/posts/1621643 Does that expression mean "in a few days", or does it basically mean the forbidden ...

Re: Nuts and bolts 2.0.sans vehicles.

Tribalstack Tropics looks like there's a lot more places to go and explore (which is what the level is made for), and Nutty Acres looks much more empty and barren to promote vehicular gameplay (which is what the level is made for). yfw When a team of 20 can make a more detailed environment with mor...

Re: Nuts and bolts 2.0.sans vehicles.

Really? They look identical. I'm not complaining though. Upon first inspection I thought they were identical too, but after really looking at them I saw they had a lot of differences. I think what makes them look similar is the unique camera angle and art style. Tribalstack Tropics looks like there...

Re: Toybox release date!

I'm expecting it to come out at least within the last half of July. I think they're going to use as much time as they possibly can to polish things.

Re: The Other Worlds?

I feel like we're guaranteed a "spooky" world, in some shape or form. It would certainly make sense for the Knights of Hamalot to reside within those castles of Glitterglaze Glaceir If I recall correctly, Playtonic mentioned a spooky world on their Twitter. I forgot how they brought it up...

But I can't stress enough awesome this game's music is: Diddy's Jet Pack (a perfect bastard of the jungle japes theme and Grant's metal past): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uakPJhG9kYU Creepy Castle (a whole song based on the intro melody of the original Donkey Kong ): https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Re: Why no physical release of Yooka-Laylee?

Yep. Shovel Knight was released physically for consoles almost a year before it was released What? Something to consider - the new Shantae was confirmed for a physical release not long ago, and it's coming out in September. No promise of a physical version initially doesn't mean it can't happen! I ...

Re: Why no physical release of Yooka-Laylee?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that what happened with shovel knight? Yep. Shovel Knight was released physically for consoles almost a year before it was released. I think Playtonic said a physical release sometime after the game's initial release was possible, but not to expect it. Personally...

Re: Should the toybox be made available once the game has been released?

As many have said -- the point of the toybox is for backers to get a feel for the game early. Based in their statement, including it in the final game build would be both a) unnecessary and b) not a betrayal of Kickstarter backers. But I would argue that it has value purely as an Easter egg for fut...

Re: Playtonic E3 General Discussion

Well, it was a bit disappointing they didn't show or say anything new in the interview, but it is nice seeing how much fun the team is having making the game. You know they love working together when every time they address each other they make a facetious or sarcastic statement. Playtonic sur...

Re: Potential in the organized creation of a 'Project Threeie' mod (or 'Project Threeie & Desist', perhaps)

Unity, the engine Yooka Laylee uses, does not support mods. Making them for Yooka Laylee would not only be extremely hard, but illegal. I don't see why anyone would want to spend their time changing the graphics and a few gameplay features of a game, with the risk of getting sued, just so they can f...

Yooka Laylee will be showcased on Gamespot at 3:40 PDT, which is just under an hour and a half from now.

Re: Include the toybox as a hidden bonus area in the game?

I've been thinking the same thing lately, too. I don't think it'd be unfair for backers because the main reason we pledged for the Toybox was to play some of the game before it came out. We're going to have a good half a year or so to play it before anyone else does, so I think it's perfectly fair. ...

I hope no one calls me out for blasphemy when I say this, but Yooka Laylee is looking to be better than Banjo Kazooie.
