Re: Playtonic's next project

I would love a spiritual successor to Conker, but part of me thinks Chris Seavor is the only person in the world who can do it. Then you will be disappointed to hear that Chris Seavor is done with making games like Conker's Bad Fur Day. He's nowadays more interested in making dark and depressing ga...

Re: Nintendo e3 stream

I'm excited for Zelda, but not enough to watch an entire hour long presentation of it. I'll probably watch 5-10 minutes of it.

Re: Playtonic's next project

The main reason a lot of us are super excited for Yooka Laylee is because we haven't had a 3D collectathon in over, what, 15 years? I don't think there would be as much excitement for a shooter or 3D cart racer because there's already plenty of those games in the market right now. Personally, I thin...

Re: Microsoft @ E3 coming in 15 minutes

I think Microsoft's conference was just as good as Sony's. Sea of Thieves looks like fun, but they didn't show many aspects of the game other than sailing and ship battles... assuming there's more to the game than that. I'm still fairly optimistic, and it looks like the kind of game you'd have fun w...

Re: I am SICK AND TIRED of people calling Yooka-Laylee a rip off of Banjo Kazooie...

I don't get what the big deal is. Yooka Laylee is supposed to be like Banjo Kazooie. If anything, you should be sick and tired of the people who call Banjo Kazooie a rip off of Mario 64. I still see people around saying "Looks like Banjo Kazooie". It really comes from people who don't foll...

Re: DK Elements

So far, it doesn't look like Yooka-Laylee has borrowed many ideas from Donkey Kong 64 that weren't already borrowed from Banjo Kazooie. It follows the bigger but fewer worlds idea that DK64 had, and there's minecart sections that were taken from the series as well (more so the Country games than 64)...

Re: Lets discuss THAT topic...

The dark ages of Kinect have only just ended, so it's too early to tell if Rare's survived it. From what I've seen so far, Sea of Thieves looks pretty cool. If it turns out to be good, my trust in them might be reinvigorated. With most of their staff from the 90s and early 2000s gone, Rare definitel...

Re: E3 trailer by Playtonic

BK never had floating platforms (thinking right off the top of my head. Hopefully I'm not wrong). The wooden treehouse bridge in Click Clock wood. Rip. Although it isn't floating when you enter fall or winter season. Hopefully they try to stay away from floating platforms. I'm 99% sure it floats in...

Re: Dr. Puzz and Dr. Quack

She does look great in the trailer. I was unsure on the design at first, but it all makes sense to me now. Playtonic never disappoint! I hope there's a small chance she accidentally turns Yooka and Laylee into something unintended like the washing machine in Banjo-Kazooie. Maybe she turns you into ...

Re: E3 trailer by Playtonic

Thinking back at it, I was a little bothered by the lack of homes for Trowser and Dr. Puzz. I agree with what Taylor said about not having them making it easier to access the transformations and moves, though. Maybe Trowser can have a small stand and Dr. Puzz can have a giant tarp/gazebo? Otherwise ...

Re: E3 trailer by Playtonic

The talking voice for his speech bubble was the same and a lot of his voice clips from Kazooie were carried over to Tooie, but there was a lot of new lines that did sound significantly different (for standard moves and such). It's been a while since I've played Tooie so the sound effects aren't fre...

Re: E3 trailer by Playtonic

Yooka's speaking voice appears to be really inconsistent with his in-game voice. One could say the same of Banjo's voice in Banjo-Tooie , and it wasn't too much disturbing, even though it was a clear departure from the previous game. His voice was definitely different in Banjo-Tooie, but both his s...

Re: E3 trailer by Playtonic

The only thing that really unsettled me was Yooka's voice. Laylee sounds just like how I imagined her, but Yooka sounds annoying and unbefitting of a chameleon. I think his sound effects, jumping etc., are great. It's just his talking mumble that I'm really unsure on... But it won't bother me too m...

Re: E3 trailer by Playtonic

The game's looking pretty good so far. Most of my complaints about the game seem to have been resolved. Even the graphics, which were my biggest qualm with the game, are starting to grow on me. Seeing everything in motion really gives the game a whole new look and feel that you can't get from lookin...

Re: Laylee's Nose to big?

It's not Laylee's huge nose that bothers me, it's her lack of texturing. It's the same with Yooka. You have these big, beautiful, detailed worlds, but running around them are two models that consist of only a few colors. It makes the game look kind of cheap to me. Hopefully they look better when you...
