Re: Every transformations in each world ?

I imagine transformations will be limited to the confines of the Grand Tomes that they belong to. But I think it would be neat if transformations could be used in the hub-world in a limited fashion. There could be pagie challenges in the hub-world that can only be completed by certain transformation...

Re: Swamp Level - Confirmed?

Oh Yes i'm really agree with you, there is no ghost writter in Hivory Towers !!!! but maybe it's because it's a demo screen ? I don't know but i'm agree with you, i think only 4 worlds + hub world is a little light. I think that you are very confused. It's not just speculation. It's a straight fact...

Re: Number of Worlds

Interesting points in the original post. I've been trying to wrap my mind around the totals screens since we've first seen them and all of this helps make sense of it. I never considered that Hivory Towers and Shipwreck Creek might share a totals screen but that would make sense! Meinhardl also brin...

Re: Every transformations in each world ?

Nah, I think they'll stick to one transformation per world. I don't think that the snow plow is anachronous, and I don't think it matters anyway. The Glacier world shows all sorts of elements that you would generally find in a snow-themed world whether they fit together or not. That may include an i...

Re: How many collectibles?

alright, that seems like a manageable of collectables... Heck, dare I see, it looks like there are even less things to collect in Yooka-Laylee than in Banjo-Kazooie ! Not if you only count the items that are necessary for 100% completion. 243 in Banjo-Tooie (since the notes are condensed into nests...

Re: How many collectibles?

Where is the screenshot of the Hivory Towers totals screen? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Also, is it taken from any gameplay footage I might have missed? I'm sure I saw most footage from EGX, including the gameplay with Chris and Andy, but maybe I missed something. https://i.redd.it/ncgmhi7b30...

Re: Shovel Knight in Yooka-Laylee

You tell me where Shoved Knight says he hails from a different universe. He says a different game. Do you know what other games are planned to be part of the Playtonic Universe? Other playtonic games. This game should have a focus on world building. But now, it's just relegating itself to the Indie...

Re: Shovel Knight in Yooka-Laylee

And that is why having just a Playtonic Universe, and not merging it into the Indie universe (really the Shoved Knight universe with how common of a factor that is), would have been the best thing ever. But that dream has been crushed. I don't think the Yooka-Laylee universe is being "merged&q...

Re: Shovel Knight in Yooka-Laylee

I doubt Shovel Knight's appearance in the game will be very significant. I think people are far too upset by such a small inclusion. If he's a minor character that appears once or twice in the game, who cares? If he's promoted to a regular supporting character like Trowzer or Dr Puzz, then I could s...

Re: Kewpie-Jazzy, a Yooka-Laylee inspired Kickstarter game.

"grossed out" Your post has some strong words. Felt pretty disenchanted by it, myself. Not sure why -- it's interesting to think about. The developers are certainly not able to articulate their ideas in a very tasteful way, at this point. It's unpleasant to see a "dream protect"...

Re: Kewpie-Jazzy, a Yooka-Laylee inspired Kickstarter game.

Yeah I just discovered this myself... Sounded interesting at first, but I got more and more grossed out the further I looked into it. I'm all for more 3D platformers on the market. But this one makes little to no attempt to hide the fact that it is nothing but a tasteless rip-off of Yooka-Laylee/Ban...

Re: Potential in the organized creation of a 'Project Threeie' mod (or 'Project Threeie & Desist', perhaps)

I hope this doesn't happen. I love Banjo and Kazooie and their world. But for me, their spirit and charm has been passed on to Yooka and Laylee. Like, they've died and reincarnated as a Chameleon and a Bat. I like to think that they really are the same characters. Just the souls of the characters ha...

Re: Playtonic E3 General Discussion

Makes me wish I would have actually backed the Kickstarter... I'd love to get my hands on that Toy Box and hear Grant's new tune and meet the new NPC. I wonder who it could be. I know they still have a lot of polishing to do, but the game looks like it controls smoothly and just looks plain fun. Asi...

Re: Quills: A (potential) problem...

These are interesting ideas, but it does seem to needlessly complicate things. I think the simple answer is that quills will disappear as you collect them. They can't reappear every time you enter the level like in Banjo-Kazooie because you give them to Trowzer. In BK, Bottle's moves were free. Some...

Re: Quills: A (potential) problem...

It would have to have a pretty much instant deposit then because speedrunners aren't going to want to go through a menu that they really don't need to go through. They'll typically complete the world, or the collectible that matters like the notes in Freezeezy Peak in Banjo-Kazooie, and will do as ...

Re: Interiors: Dr Puzz/Trowzer Building?

This was also the one thing that kind of bothered me while watching the trailers. I'm not totally turned off by it, but it did catch my eye and made me think. People who like it claim that they'd prefer the characters out in the open because they'd like to avoid unnecessary loading screens while ent...

Re: Quills: A (potential) problem...

What if in every world there is a hidden "quill bank" or something that you could find and store all of the quills that you've picked up? If you leave a world or die without depositing your quills in the bank, you have to pick up those quills again when you reenter the world. You can purch...

Re: Donkey Kong 64 - collectables vs. your opinion (please vote and discuss)

I don't know, the worlds had some nice themes and awesome music, but there wasn't really "life" as we know it from the Banjo games in there. You almost always talked to the same characters (and there were only a few), while these conversations never ever went beyond basic gameplay-instruc...

Re: General Chat (& Random Thoughts)

Wow, it really got lively in here after the Edge blow out! So many new names... I'm one of 'em! :D Still one of the slower forums I've posted on, but that's totally understandable considering the fact that this game hasn't even been released yet and there's not a whole lot to talk about. That's oka...
