Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

Considering this is Playtonic's first game, I think this is going to end up biting them up the jacksie... I wouldn't worry too much about it, as long as the game is good it'll do fine. this backlash and boycott stuff from these clowns always goes about the same way, look at how Fire Emblem Fates so...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

Did you really expect me to take you seriously when you just compared an internet comedian to Jim Crow? This is how blind these people really are. They see someone state a statistic in a debate and immediately claim racism without doing one bit of research on their own. THEN YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY T...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

I have yet to see a source where he says anything racist. Stating a "fact" about the crime rate between two groups of people with different ethnicity and wealth isn't racist. And he has gone back on a lot of the stuff he said during that stream debate. Though I guess a video of him explai...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

He isn't a crazy overtly racist dude though. I think he just has different views and doesn't know how to debate, especially under pressure. If the dude was any more obviously racist he'd be burning crosses and wearing a pointy white hood. Even then y'all would probably write it off as "just di...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

There are no tantrums In this thread Taylor. Everybody has valid points and has the right to express them. This isn't yooka not wearing any clothes or shovel knight being added. This is a serious topic. It's about principal. Playtonic have altered their game due to political beliefs which is bang o...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

I've read a lot of responses from the people who are "glad" Jon got cut, and think Playtonic was justified for cutting him from the game... and that just signals to me how petty and how toxic political correctness has gotten. Yes, PC culture is still a thing, and it's obviously still a hu...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

Plus does anyone else have a suspicion that some of these "I just made an account to say this" people might just be JonTron fans coming here pretending to be backers or potential buyers of the game, to try and pressure PlayTonic into changing their mind by skewing things to look as if mor...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

Who's opinion is Jon not tolerating? From Merriam-Webster Bigot: A person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially: one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance Jon said vile things...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

Alright I want to take a few steps back here. I haven't finished the debate JonTron had because I got like 6 minutes in and Destiny just started irritating me. So what exactly did Jon say that was racist? I'm a little curious to know and don't really want to go through this 2 hour debate. https://y...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

Where does the line get drawn for you? I unfortunately cannot invest into this project anymore and would like to request a refund. I pledged £340+ and refuse to support this company and it's recent involvement in politics. You are intolerable of other people's views and I simply cannot support a co...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

This has nothing to do with "SJWs" or "political correctness", JonTron said that he believes that black people are inherently violent, that rich black people commit more crime that poor white people, and that we shouldn't allow "foreigners" to enter the gene pool. What...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

no such thing as politically neutral. Everything makes a statement whether it was intended or not. So what political statements did Banjo-Kazooie make? Games don't exist in a vacuum but context is a funny thing. 18 years from now ask somebody what political statement Yooka-Laylee made and see if an...

no such thing as politically neutral. Everything makes a statement whether it was intended or not. They reached out to include him presumably because they enjoyed his work. At some point between then and now (don't need to tell you which point that was) that changed, so they had no reason to include...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

free speech isn't "say whatever you want with no consequences." I'm glad he was removed, frankly didn't want him there in the first place. Sure some people throw a little tantrum about it but the net amount it actually impacts sales will almost certainly be just about zero (or even a net p...

Re: Concerns of quality?

I have always been thinking of the game in the context of its dev time, team size, and budget (all of which are real small by today's standards) so for me, no. I think probably a lot of people will go in expecting a big hyper polished AAA experience and will leave disappointed though. Also, I think ...

Re: KickStarter Wii-U Backer

Steam Link is cheap and actually works well, from what I've heard. There are a lot of solutions to that problem and everybody has a different preference for that stuff in the first place. Don't get me wrong, play games the way you want to play them but it's pointless trying to get down on how other...
