Re: Is input lag prevalent on PC as well as consoles?

Sorry for the double post, but I did just remember a place where I definitely had input lag: the final boss, during the outside part of the battle. It was so bad that I decided to stop trying on the 3-butterfly mode. This happened - notably - after the patch was applied. I think I remember slight la...

Re: Playtonic: What we Want to Hear About

I wish mom and dad would say "We're almost there." But they seem to be up in the front seats, unable to hear us :o I imagine this is killing Playtonic a lot. I think their fans are actually quite important to them. I can just imagine the dread they feel when it looks like something is 99% ...

Re: Playtonic: What we Want to Hear About

It's not like we are asking for a lot: just an update to remind us that they are still around. One guy thought the Switch version was cancelled for crying out loud. We haven't heard anything from them in over a month, besides small bits off of twitter. Furthermore, many Switch players have yet to pl...

Re: Is input lag prevalent on PC as well as consoles?

There might have been some input lag before the PC patch, but I don't think I've had any problems since then. Even then, the only thing I can specifically remember that might have been input lag was during the Hurdle Hijinx game, and I'm pretty sure that was a glitch rather than input lag.

Re: Playtonic: What we Want to Hear About

I was defending them just under two weeks ago; I was convinced they were holding back an update for when they could announce the console patches were live. And yet here we are now, nearly two weeks later, and nothing to show for it at all. This is basically the first website I check every morning, h...

Re: Playtonic: What we Want to Hear About

I wonder how difficult it is for them to get the "final OK" on this patch? I will say it again: I really hope they only develop on a single platform next time. If it has to be Steam, so be it. Of course I'd prefer Switch, but that's my Nintendo bias coming out. If they don't deliver a full...

Re: Playtonic: What we Want to Hear About

That's great news. So DLC hasn't been forgotten! My fears are greatly lessened now. I imagine they really are just waiting to post an update with the news that the console patches have hit.

Re: Playtonic: What we Want to Hear About

This lack of communication is starting to frighten me. At least they've had some apparent communication on Twitter. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to find out the DLC isn't coming. I seriously wonder how profitable this game has been for them. I know on Steam it has good reviews, so maybe th...

Re: Console patch "shouldn't be long now"

^^^^^ This. Are we really going through all of July without a single news update on their own website? I really hope Playtonic sticks to a single platform next time. While I truly do love Yooka-Laylee, if I hadn't gotten to play it on Steam shortly after it first came out, I know I would just be sic...

Re: Playtonic: What we Want to Hear About

So there is still no update... I'm officially worried/upset. I guess they could still update on Monday, but I don't consider that likely at this point. It's been over a month since we have had any news. What is happening?

Re: Playtonic: What we Want to Hear About

If Playtonic can't get this out on Switch by September, I do believe it will be very much forgotten in favor of games like Mario. It basically is forgotten right now! One of the only things that could save it is the Switch version reviews coming in as far superior to the original release's. Even the...

Playtonic: What we Want to Hear About

Hello! I was inspired to make this post from Piet in the "Split n' Polish" thread. It has been a long while since we last heard from Playtonic, and the wait is starting to hurt. I'm sure I'm not alone in being terrified that when we do finally get an update, it will be highly lackluster. S...

Re: Spit N Polish

Perhaps they don't want to make an official post about things until they have that patch release date squared away? Hopefully they'll have more news about the Switch version then too, as well as the DLC stuff they are offering us. I for one can't wait until the bloody "exposition" has fini...

Re: Spit N Polish

Just one week of July left... I'm holding strong in my faith that we'll get another monthly update post by then. But I can't deny it is getting harder and harder to have that faith  That is shocking the new patch still hasn't been applied to anything besides Steam. I'm hoping Playtonic will sti...

Re: The music is so damn good

I do agree that Grant Kirkhope and David Wise are perhaps the best video game music composers ever. The music of my childhood - and by extension, current adulthood - was very much what they wrote. I am still of the opinion that BK and BT have better music than Yooka-Laylee, however. I understand Gra...

Re: My in-depth "review"/analysis of Yooka-Laylee

See, I don't mind the critical analysis so much as it just felt like you were saying "I hated this game, but couldn't stop playing because it was so bad." If you just said in the review "For the record, I still loved this game," I think it would at least give the review a more po...

Re: My in-depth "review"/analysis of Yooka-Laylee

Alright I read the review... and I have to say that while there were definitely elements of the game that were off or missed opportunities, the overall shaming of it really doesn't sit well with me. I don't know if everyone else was just expecting something way too different, but for me this game wa...

Re: 3-Butterfly Challenge

The Bubble Buddy move is pretty ridiculous. I think Yooka Laylee has a few problems in terms of general difficulty: 1) Platform challenges can't be very difficult because of Yooka's double jump, plus how long Laylee can glide for. 2) Baddies can't be very troublesome because they can all be complete...

EDIT: So I just tried to read the review... but it's asking me to join this website? Sorry, but I really don't care enough to go through the trouble of all of that. Hey Matty, I haven't gotten around to reading your analysis yet, but wanted you to know this thread didn't totally fall on deaf ears! I...

3-Butterfly Challenge

Hey guys. I've just about finished up playing the game for the sixth time (although 2 times the game ended up erased). This run through, I decided to try out the 3-butterfly challenge using Vendi's tonic. I thought I'd give a bit of a review concerning the game's difficulty, and whether it is enough...
