Re: COUNTDOWN: Yooka-Laylee Released Today!

Work is done. I'm home and I'm going to play Yooka Laylee , this is so surreal! The past weeks I played and enjoyed a lot of platformers to get in the mood. I really wonder what kind of impression this wil give me. Look out for my own review later down the road, I'm a 3D platformer junkie. for now e...

Re: I'm sad with the reviews

Don't be sad. Look at it like this: the 2 worst reviews (a 2.0 and a 3.5) both came from the same outlet/drain. 2 mediocre reviewers that are never to be taken seriously because they are just like you and me, no professionals and just blabbering on, I'm talking about Jim Sterling and Laura Dale from...

Re: What might happen to Playtonic if Yooka-Laylee flops...

Sometimes, when the Internet has already made up its mind about something, it won't let it go, for better or for worse. There ARE plenty of people who enjoyed the game, but will that be enough to keep Playtonic going? More importantly, will the initial negative reception affect the sales poorly. Be...

Re: Early reviews

I have to disagree with 3D platformers being a particularly simple genre to get right with Unity. 2D games are much more easily made with Unity. It is not a particularly high hurdle technically, to make a 3D platformer in Unity (it is really an engine that offers everything you need there), but to ...

Re: Early reviews

"while digital codes will be dispatched within the week so that backers can pre-load and play the game!" ... When do digital game rewards dispatch? Digital Game Rewards for Steam, GOG and Xbox One will be sent out this week so that backers on those platforms can pre-load the game in time f...

Re: Early reviews

Long story short: Check out 2 games, "Poi" and "FreezeMe" they both look incredibly basic, yet when playing them you forget about that immediadly and enjoy it. They are both 1 man projects actually there are a lot of 3D platformer games in Steam that don't have enough reviews as...

Re: Early reviews

If it makes you feel better, all the negative comments are "old school platforming and collection". Which... IS THE WHOLE POINT! These reviewers are mad because the pipe is a pipe. I've noticed this too. As fans of the genre, we know exactly what to expect and will enjoy the game. I am ju...

So... Every nook and cranny right?
I mean... they aren't all in plain sight right?

Will this game test my creativity in order to find everything?
