Re: Playtonic's Next Game... Soon? (Speculation)

I can't find a link at the moment, but I'm 99% sure I read an interview with a Playtonic dev where he said that a Diddy Kong Racing spiritual successor was actually the team's first choice for their debut game, but in the end they felt they were obligated to do a new 3D platformer first, both in te...

Re: Playtonic's Next Game... Soon? (Speculation)

if they do a get gemini game , i won't buy for sure. Huh, I guess your username should be downgraded to ' kind-of-a- fanofoldrare'. :D But in all seriousness, we have no idea what they're currently working on. I suspect David Wise is doing the majority of the music this time as I seem to remember G...

Re: Playtonic's Next Game... Soon? (Speculation)

I'm excited about this, but I'm more curious than anything. Rare used to be in development of multiple games at a time, but does Playtonic really have the time and resources to do that, especially when they still need to deliver on certain things promised in the Yooka-Laylee Kickstarter? That fasci...

Playtonic's Next Game... Soon? (Speculation)

https://youtu.be/ao8lUp8QHJs?t=1800 Grant let slip in this livestream that he has finished his contribution for Playtonic's next game. I am working on the game they are doing at the moment. I think Dave [David Wise] is also involved in it as well. I've actually just finished writing the music for th...

Re: Spin-off graphic novel revealed!

... Thank you for the lengthy, thought-out response! Your explanations make perfect sense to me and has completely quashed my cynicism. I'm not currently in a position to raise my pledge beyond $40, but I do hope the stretch goals are reached. The embossing looks fantastic and would really make the...

Re: Spin-off graphic novel revealed!

Thanks so much for your support! It means a lot to have you put your trust in this project. You won't be disappointed! I'm happy I've backed this project and I look forward to going through the book with my nephew. I do, however, have some questions regarding the stretch goals and general finance.....

Re: Spin-off graphic novel revealed!

The more I learn about the comic, the more it begins to interest me. I have a question... The comic has eight different "levels" within one giant tome world. All of them are new. You can check out Trowzer's map on the Kickstarter campaign page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dreampri...

Re: Spin-off graphic novel revealed!

Kickstarter’s up. Already at $13K. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dreamprismpress/yooka-laylee-and-the-kracklestone That's actually great to see -- maybe I underestimated the demand. I wish the campaign all the luck in the world and if it gets funded I'll be sure to check it out after publica...

They've signed up here, so that's a great sign that we haven't been all but forgotten!

I wonder what's happened to Andy? Did he leave, or did he change roles? Or *gasps* fired.

Re: How many Kickstarter milestones are there left for Playtonic Games to complete?

I would have at least expected that the developer commentary had been released by now, be it on Playtonic's YouTube channel or a patch adding commentary nodes you can interact with into Yooka-Laylee - which would play a short audio message that would explain the design process that went behind a pu...

Re: Spin-off graphic novel revealed!

I'm glad Playtonic aren't running this Kickstarter themselves and even more glad that they aren't spending their profits on this. It seems interesting and I would read it if it were ever published, but I have doubts as to whether this campaign will be funded. Is the demand for a 'graphic novel' ther...

Yooka-Laylee Guest-Starring in "Brawlout" (New Fighting Game)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ao-_bwChl6U This video was released 5 days ago, but I've only just seen it. I'm surprised I haven't heard anything from Playtonic about this. Brawlout is probably not a game that would have caught my interest if it hadn't featured Yooka-Laylee, but now I'm quite inter...

Re: "PENNY"

I did try asking Playtonic about who this "Penny" is on Twitter, but they just liked the post and didn't give any information about it. So I tried asking Steve Mayles as he sometimes replies to questions about games and characters, but he didn't reply. :( This reaction certainly makes it ...

Hm? I have no idea...

Maybe it's symbolic of a "lucky penny", being Playtonic's first game and all.

Re: Yooka-Laylee's first anniversary!

Taylor, out of curiosity, do you have regular contact with the Playtonic people? As in, might you be aware of anything on the horizon, or are you in the dark just as much as us? I'm in the same boat as you all. The funny thing is, the last time I contacted Playtonic directly was the morning of the ...

Re: Yooka-Laylee's first anniversary!

Hahh! If you don't trust me, then just contact PTG. They will provide all the evidence you're asking for (just like you're saying yourself). They're talking about 'changes and delays' not about cancelations. ;) And I'm not even saying that they won't deliver. I'm just saying that I expect them to f...

May 2nd, 2015: (http://forums.playtonicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1082&p=10792#p10792) I pledged 70! Don't care for the t-shirt, but I want everything physical (ex. the N64 thingy) & digital (for my Wii U). Maaaannnnn, I can' wait! :D May 3rd, 2015, Playtonic add higher stretch goals...

Re: Yooka-Laylee's first anniversary!

Primarily because the stretch goals had absolutely no impact on whether I did or didn't invest, nor did it affect the amount I backed with. I also understand that in a realistic world, not everything can go to plan, which was actually stated on the Yooka-Laylee Kickstarter page. The stretch goals w...

Re: Yooka-Laylee's first anniversary!

I just can’t understand that you could still feel satisfied IF (I think they will keep their promises tho) a company (in this case: PTG) you trusted and invested money in, doesn’t keep their promises. That’s pretty naive, if you ask me. :) Primarily because the stretch goals had absolutely no impac...
