Re: Making the Switch

I hadn't even considered that, but it looks like an early Xbox ONE is around $140 on eBay, and Xbox ONE has a decent list of good titles as well. And more coming. Not a bad option for the cost-cutter.

Re: Making the Switch

The ToyBox isn't even worth paying for at this point, PLUS you can find it free online. It was a cute timed exclusive but they might as well give it to everyone who backed at any level so they can get the same benefits as those who will now preorder. You'll cry about anything Piet. Just go away. It'...

Re: Making the Switch

They should just make the toy box open access now. I put in my donation specifically for the advanced toy box and played it a few times, and it's fine, but I don't think it needs to be closed access anymore.

Re: Tinfoil Hat Time

Yeah the uncertainty of their development state is why I believe this won't be happening. But I think Nintendo stands to gain a LOT if they could "work closely" enough to make it happen.

Tinfoil Hat Time

Warning: the following is completely unfounded. So the release date was bumped a little as a few of us have chuckled at. But I noticed the words "working closely with Nintendo" have been thrown around a few times regarding the Switch. What if... Nintendo wants Yooka Laylee as a timed exclu...

Re: Making the Switch

There's a FAQ for the switch (heh): http://www.playtonicgames.com/faq/ It answers things like "can I get a refund" and "why did you wait so long to announce this". So. All the outrage has also already been explained. Spoiler: A lot of my speculation was correct :P Edit: Here's an...

Re: Making the Switch

it's somehow nice to know that now all console versions stack up against each other Yep! It certainly would have been a case where WiiU holds everything back, or WiiU gets massively shafted. Like I said earlier, they could have taken out all the foliage, removed half the props, down-rezd all the NP...

Re: Making the Switch

I didn't get screwed. I've had a physical copy on PC and a digital copy on PC ordered since day 1. If anything I'm coming out ahead because now the Nintendo Anchor won't be holding my frame rate hostage.

Re: Making the Switch

just to get nothing in return Switch your pre-order to one of the other options. Barring that, welcome to Kickstarter. I've backed at least 3 games that didn't get any release on any system at all. 3 others have been in "active development" for over 4 years (Unsung Story, Star Citiz...

Re: Nintendo support should we worry?

Technically there's still Nintendo support. It's just they wasted an entire console generation doing nothing

Re: Capital Ca$hino!

Looks really awesome! I notice a few mechanics/props seem recycled (the pyramid, having a slide, rolling a large ball) but it doesn't look like it'll feel too same-y.

And I believe I saw two new moves as well. One idle, and an enhanced rolling move, I agree.

Re: Making the Switch

I can agree they probably knew about the issue a while ago and probably should have told you sooner, but that doesn't fix the fact the WiiU is weak and can't run the game.

Know what else doesn't fix anything? Crying about it.

Re: Making the Switch

RE-SEARCH [sic] You don't GET IT. These are issues you CAN NOT KNOW ABOUT UNTIL THEY HAPPEN. You CAN NOT research something when you are LEADING the pack. They ARE the research. I'd wager a guess that they could take all of the foliage, lighting, art, backgrounds, and half of the NPCs and monsters ...

Re: Making the Switch

Take [off] your PT glasses. WiiU is a weak console: OBJECTIVELY A FACT. You have never released a commercial indie game: FACT. You have no information about their internal decision-making process at Playtonic: FACT. Playtonic was forced to make an undesireable decision after months of attempting to...

Re: Making the Switch

Then they should've never announced the game foor the Wii U. It's their fault! + 15fps? If you REALLY think that, then you have absolutely no knowledge of technology. I mean, I have a masters in computer science, have a career as a senior software engineer, have built more desktops than you can cou...

Re: Making the Switch

What's there to wait for? The WiiU is a dead console with a Dorito for a graphics chip. The YouTube vids of YL all chug, and those are on more powerful systems. I wouldn't be surprised to hear the WiiU couldn't handle 15FPS in that HUGE Tribalstack Tropics scene.

Re: Making the Switch

Sounds like a lot of people, out of blind nostalgia and loyalty to the company that originally sold off the BK IP in the first place, forgot that Nintendo wasn't the one publishing this game. The WiiU was the weakest current gen system upon release. From day one there had been a myriad of reasons to...
