Re: World Theming

I mentioned in another thread if they had a world that was an homage to 3D platforming's roots. It would be cool if there was a world made of 64 bit graphics. Even better is if the two look like they were n64 characters for the duration of being in that world. This. I mean... texture stretching, bi...

Re: What do you want in a Ocean World?

I'd want Ukelele's Bottles ready to teach me some sort of fluid swimming technique or drill attack that keeps exploration fast and fun, rather than being a chore. And I want it to get deep. Really deep. The deeper you swim, the darker and more treacherous it gets. And yeah, maybe along the way you c...

I'm pretty jealous that you got to have Banjo as your first game.

Re: Random Ideas (Characters/Levels/Challenges/Etc.)

^I adore the idea of a world split into such contrasting concepts. And I always like my platformers having some fairy tale influence. As long as the happier (less forested?) area capitalizes on exploration (as I'm sure the spooky area would), I could see that having potential.

Re: Day/Night Cycle?

If they go the unfortunate route of doing mostly jungle/nature themed levels, then I could see that being a really neat feature. Even a world like Freezeezy could benefit by getting real cozy at night. But if we're talkin' mostly themed worlds, I agree a halloween world especially wouldn't benefit. ...

Re: Conker’s Big Reunion coming to Project Spark April 23rd

The thing is, it's Conker in Project Spark or no Conker at all. If they were really using him just to sell their (free) game, then they could've chosen any character in Microsoft's repertoire, which admititaly isn't that vast, but under that school of thought, they still would've gotten more exposu...

Re: Name the jungle world......

I suppose I should have specified. Early CG does indeed have that plastic look from that lighting, but I meant to imply the foliage and plantlife themselves look less Nutty-Acres like and more natural and--I guess gritty?--than what was shown in the Ukelele screenshot. And despite the plastic look, ...

Re: Name the jungle world......

Although I think the two Ukulele screenshots look beautiful, I am a bit concerned that they (especially the jungle world) look a bit inorganic. It reminds me of Nuts & Bolts' Nutty Acres, which I really wasn't fond of. https://scontent-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/11070975_15527297583...

Re: What draws you to 3D platfromers?

I like the feeling of being able to revisit a world and or hub and thinking there's still some secret hidden away in the corners of the maps. In Banjo, the game lead me to believe there was ALWAYS something to discover. I always thought there was something behind the Grunty picture in the entrance. ...

Re: What did you think of Nuts and Bolts?

It was ambitious, but ultimately mediocre in my eyes. If they were trying to attract new players, I hope the vehicle creation wasn't aimed at the kiddies. Despite the building process being user friendly, the physics do everything in its power to make sure you account for every single variable a veh...

Re: Things that you DO NOT want in this game.

The first thing that I DON'T want to see in this game can be summed up by Super Mario Galaxy... I don't like how every level is essentially forgettable, because there's a hundred of them, and yet they all boil down to the same generic themes. I think it's also because the levels are filled with so ...

Re: How big do you want the worlds to be???

Nuts and Bolts felt so barren and pointless, that it would take a lot more than warp pads to make those fun. I'm on the side that thinks Tooie stretched it out a bit too much. Everyone wants to pump out skyrim sized worlds nowadays, but there's nothing wrong with pulling the camera in real close for...

Re: What in the world are "Pagies"?

Maybe you need a certain amount of "pagies" to complete a song. and by playing that song you open doors or "Expand" the worlds. I'm just hopping the the minor collectibles like the notes in B-K have a nice feeling too because I loved collecting those and their sound. I like this...

Re: Nintendo Fans, Lets Show Them Our Nostalgia! WiiU/3DS+Am

Definitely no 3DS. It can get its own sequel or ukelele spinoff later, but right now the focus should be on taking advantage of modern hardware. I'd like a Wii U port, but if the hardware isn't there for the envisioned ideas, then I'd rather it make use of better hardware elsewhere (minus the Xbone...
