Re: NEW UPDATE: Raising The Curtain

Quills, better then notes! Never really understood the notes anyway... I can't hear the Quill collect-noise as anything other than the feathers from Banjo. It sounds so fitting--too fitting. I hope they add a bit of that rich jingly oomph from the notes, (maybe making them gold/hard to make it more...

Re: Dr. Puzz and Dr. Quack

I think Dr. Quack is probably a parody of people calling bad doctors "quacks". It's basically spelled it out in the update. "This month we’ll be discussing a pair of new supporting characters destined to join the Playtonic Universe; the hapless, multi-limbed scientist Dr. Puzz and he...

Can't see his face on the side of a mountain exactly, but I like his design and what he symbolizes. The honeycome cane is perfect. If he were tweaked juuust a bit to look less like Dru though, I wouldn't mind

Re: NEW UPDATE: Raising The Curtain

enough of the carbon copies, enough of the coming very close to breaching copyrights. Lets see something new and not something rehashed. I think you're going against the grain with that one. I'm sure most of the 80,000 backers wanted basically Banjo 2.0. And I don't see much in terms of "carbo...

Re: Dr. Puzz and Dr. Quack

I think Dr. Puzz is my favorite of the side characters so far. I look at her and I can feel that this is a game with those bizzaro quirky vibes Banjo had, whereas someone like Dr. Quack could fit in any cartoony game really. Her design is oddly unique, and a small part of me feels like she's right t...

Re: NEW UPDATE: Raising The Curtain

Butterflies, tonics and choosing your move-order all have me anxious. They're bold moves, and there's no telling how well they will pay off until you experience them first-hand. I personally was fine with the load of collectibles in Tooie, including all the egg variations. In fact, my issue with DK6...

Re: What changed ?...

Yooka-Laylee should be its own game with its own feeling. It shouldn't try to be like Banjo-Kazooie, it shouldn't try to be like Donkey Kong, it should be like Yooka-Laylee. Off topic: YL SHOULD be like BK. :) And I would also like to see games in the future that are like DK and Conker. It should b...

Re: How in the world can a Rare/Ninty fan justify an XBone?

Right there with you. I still have most the games in the Replay on me, and even some I'd rather play that it doesn't include like Conker Live and Reloaded (yep, one of the weirdos who prefer that one). On top of that, my PC is semi-beefy and there's nothing I want on the Xbox One that I wouldn't be ...

Re: What changed ?...

you know what made me enjoy games a lot more? Try to look for glitches on your own, you start to notice all the little things developers made that you would otherwise just ignore. I like the way you think, and I wholeheartedly agree. I also think games with more character to them benefit from thing...

Re: What changed ?...

Wii U certainly undersold, but by no means are Mario Maker and Splatoon dead. I think the Wii U has been more consistently good than the Wii, but I admit it definitely hasn't gotten enough to justify its console lifespan. I'd recommend Shantae's Pirate Curse if you like what you see. The others didn...

Re: What changed ?...

You definitely seek some Banjo, so let me the first to tell you you there's nothing quite like that anywhere. Banjo is one of the most nostalgic a gamer can get, and it's due to a vast amount of cohesive elements that through some miracle managed to hit all the right spots. Your best bet for seeking...

Re: What changed ?...

Like I said, it depends on your tastes, so fill me in on what you're looking for. If it's strictly platformers, then I'd have to side with you in that I consider the N64/PS1 era the pinnacle of platforming experience, and that little has been in that department imo aside from titles that any gamer s...

Re: What changed ?...

Little bit of column A, little bit of column B. If your question is whether games are as good now as they were back then, then yes, they can be. If you search enough and know what your tastes are. There are plenty of fantastic games. It's just that often nowadays you can't even compare a modern game...

Absolutely love the ambitious Tooty idea. Mostly because I love new game+ type mechanics in general. Just Wind Waker's translation of Hylian was enough for me to replay it immediately.

Re: Five worlds for Yooka-Laylee, and my concern about them

I don't doubt that the total playtime won't come to match or surpass previous entries, but my concern is in the variety of worlds at play. If, like someone said, the world expansion doesn't all stick with one environment the whole way through, I could be cool with just 5 overall themes. I'm just wor...

Much appreciated.

Wish I could see the start-up, but I very much likes the dangling legs and Laylee's spastic head turning

My only tiny nitpick so far, if I had to have one, would be that the naming is a bit on the nose.
