Re: Chris Sutherland Interview

Wonder if any fans have tried to make garbly voices for the duo yet. Dying to hear Yooka's.

Re: New Music Revealed

I opened it in a tab and tuned out because the buffering took quite a bit. It wasn't until the song ended that I realized I didn't have a let's play of DK64/Banjo open in the background.

I absolutely love it. It's literally perfect.

Re: New Character revealed: Rextro SixtyFourus

My impression was that the token was just a throwback, referencing the placeholder, rather than being a representation of the current main collectible.

This is all assuming they did indeed confirm they were placeholders. I vaguely recall that they did, but its been a while.

Re: Are any of the staff active here?

I still find it hilarious how they addressed that old post that got excited because the user thought they had shrunken Laylee's nose, when nothing had changed. They definitely do read. Who wouldn't? It's an entire community dedicated to critiquing/hyping/speculating a project you'd be working on dai...

Re: Hardcore Mode?

Dead space has a mode that lets you only save the game 3 times. With a difficulty modifier that might be interesting. I've played Banjo like that! Though I go with only 1 life; I'm a fan of setting my own restrictions in an effort to engage myself. I always fail sometime around bubblegoop swamp. It...

Re: Who is the mystery butterfly.

Hrm. Well they ARE suspiciously close to Yooka in each shot, and they come in 3's for seemingly no reason. How crazy would it be if they were secretly the game's enemy forces or something?

Can't help but think EarthBound and see them as energy-replenishes though.

Re: Puzzle Spin Off

Yeah, you could have really just combined all those threads you made. Take it down a few notches.

That said, I'd rather we do away with any "Yooka-Pilot"s. I'd rather they incorporate all these spin-offy ideas into the singleplayer, ala Banjo Tooie and its FPS goodness.

Re: New Character revealed: Rextro SixtyFourus

He looks adorable! Of course the scanlines are a nice touch, as is the flat lighting that reflects off his very blocky appearance. He reminds me of the Cheesasaurus Rex from the Macaroni commercials! I personally adore that, because several Banjo NPCs fit that sort of knock-off aesthetic as they mai...

Re: Interview with Gavin Price, scope-creep addressed

Oh, Playtonic. You know all the right things to say. <3 The fact that they really really weren't fooling around with that focus for October is just so reassuring. They really were dead set on making this regardless of the kickstarter. Hearing Gavin describe the moments the kickstarter went up put a ...

Re: Too much like Banjo-Kazooie?

I'm worried of the opposite. I hope this doesn't end up feeling like some Spyro game or something. This is one of the few times where I would absolutely like a rehash.

Re: MIDI-Music-Option?

That's a bit disappointing. At that point, I'd wonder why you would even throw in the word N64 in front of it. :/ If the shader will be at all similar to Grim's solution, then all we're left with is a modern game with simple lighting. Hardly N64-like. In this case, I don't see lower music worth it i...

Re: MIDI-Music-Option?

In this case, if you have an ear that gets off on focusing in on the crunchier 64-bit sound, I suppose you would be one such audiophile. Although perhaps that's the wrong word. And of course I like what's been shown so far. I've already explained why one might have a preference for a lower qualtiy o...

Re: MIDI-Music-Option?

If people want to see and hear an N64 game, (and don't get me wrong I love the system) why don't they whip one out and use it? This ISNT a Banjo Kazooie game, it's inspired by it, but it's somthing different. What's the point of doing the same thing all over again when there's been such huge innova...

Re: Yooka-Laylee: Everything We Know (So Far)

Maybe I'm blind, but I skimmed through all the videos in the OP and I can't find the video with dialogue between Yooka and Laylee. Something like, "How much longer are we going to be in here, Yooka" (referring to the teaser image) that was at the end of one of the gameplay videos IIRC. Any...

Re: MIDI-Music-Option?

^^I don't understand. The N64 Shader option is a thing? Obviously they want to utilize modern hardware, but they've also already officially recognized that the N64 experience is something people would like. If this really isn't too difficult to do, I could see it being very beneficial to my N64 shad...

Re: Have people forgotten Playtonic are not idiots?

When a project gets buzz because it's explicitly stated to be a spiritual Banjo sequel, I think it's only natural for a few of those to exist. -Art style. Yes, it's only 3 months, but the art and first world show a clear art direction that deviates from the Banjo games. It can be tweaked, but we def...

-I love love love that they inquisitively look around from side to side in their idle animations, just like B-K. I hope it is mixed in with other animations when you talk to npcs. (Banjo would either be looking around, or have his hands on his hips, nodding his head) -A lot of attention is given to ...
