Re: Custom Console Covers for Yooka-Laylee

Man, those look great. Though I find Yooka's face/nose area to be very different in-game. So much so, that it looks a bit odd here.

Re: About the artstyle.

Totally agree with the OP. Though I think the art direction looks quite nice, I can't help but feel emotionally detached from it. It reminds me more of Mario, and that's not Rare. Rare, I think were better than that. I hope Playtonic agrees! One of my absolute favourite moments from Banjo was in Cl...

Re: Yooka-Laylee Kickstarter successfully funded including all stretch goals...in less than a bloody day!!!

I bet playtonic is overjoyed. Not even a full day has gone by and it's already 420% funded. I was honestly a bit worried that it was only some small cult fanbase that still cared for 3D collectathons, but the internet blew my expectations out of the water.

Re: Floating Island Levels

I initially thought as much for that level because the first screenshot of the jungle level looked like it had some sort of emphasis on vertical platforming via mini islands. But the videos have since shown me that the "islands" can indeed be big enough to get lost and immersed in. There's...

Re: Yooka-Laylee!

I agree that there's a lot of hype to be had about Yooka's potential moveset. I can't wait to see what we'll learn down the road. As for Yooka, I wonder what his ranged attack will be? Kazooie had eggs, and DK had his shooter. Sonar blasts? I really hope that their relationship is as endearing as B...

There's talk about Yuuka's frills, but it's all positive whereas this is more of a 50/50 split at best

No, they definitely need a defining feature. But a bulging red clown nose isn't by idea of a good one.

No. :< I'm ecstatic about the gameplay, but I can't deny the nose isn't growing on me.

Re: Phil Spencer says he has no problem with Banjo & Kazooie in Smash Bros as DLC

It had really dropped its Nintendo support by that time though. Even if he knew Snake Eater would get a 3DS port sometime later, he'd still have to be very aware that he's including a character that is mostly associated with Sony. If he'd allow such a big inclusion based off a simple friendship, the...

Re: Phil Spencer says he has no problem with Banjo & Kazooie in Smash Bros as DLC

So then why didn't Sakurai care that he was advertising Metal Gear with Snake? Simply because they're friends? If enough people vote Banjo, I'm sure Sakurai can look past Microsoft currently owning Banjo and recognize that he used to be a Nintendo icon. He was the byproduct and symbol of one of Nint...

Re: Phil Spencer says he has no problem with Banjo & Kazooie in Smash Bros as DLC

actually king k. rool has been a highly requested character since brawl maybe even melee always around the to 10! & with nintendo pretty much abandoning him as the major villain in both DKCR & DKTF i can see how his fans have band together for heck i have always wanted him! think about it a...

Re: Re imagining BK worlds in PU

It'd be cool if, say, you managed to climb your way to the very tip top of some level through unconventional means, and as you pan the camera around you find you're able to spot some mountains way off in the distance that were half fire and half ice. Or something like that.

Re: Important looking yet useless

This would be like my number one request. I always thought it would sound odd to others, but I would love for the game to be packed with these. I would be second guessing every room, my imagination running wild! Using this alongside extra hidden secrets would be incredible. I might think it was a ru...

Re: Project Ukulele: Game Over Cutscene

I'd love if there's no cutscene it all, but something playable. I hate non-game narrative. An underworld micro-level only accessible if you loose your lives? Better for me. This reminds me of Super Mario 64's Star Road hack, which forced you to run down a path every game over. It was awful, and I w...

Re: Well hidden secrets

I spent so long trying to find a way through those back gates at MMM. Something about those unique textures get my mind racing. I hope playtonic finds a way to make me feel that way again, despite higher resolutions leaving nothing to the imagination with simpler textures.

I love it when that happens. Big Boo's Haunt in Mario 64 was always one of my favorite levels just because of how well the unorthodox entrance fits with the design of that world.

Re: About the artstyle.

Part of me thinks they should be given the chance to switch up the art style, and refine what they've shown. But if I'm being honest, I share your exact sentiments, and I would definitely opt for the game to look less Galaxy-like given the option. Especially HoneyHive Galaxy. Something gives off a s...
