Re: I'm Playing Banjo-Kazooie...

You might have already covered this, but if you're opening the zip file directly within PJ64, try extracting it first so it opens the z64 file.

Re: what do you believe RARE is ready to announce? POLL

Viva Pinata was released for PC too so you could look into that if you've not a 360. I played it some time back. It's nice. Cartoony but quite dark too. A little strange breeding a load of Spaarrowhawks with the express wish of luring in their predator to eat them so you can make that a pet too! In ...

Re: Favorite Rare "Crap Past the Radar Moments"

I've been playing through BK recently and found one of the treasure chests in Treasure Trove Cove said: "THIS HERE BE GRUNTY'S BOOTY. TOUCH IT IF YOU DARE". In reference to the jiggy of course. It's a pretty low key one so if it was any developer other than Rare I'd have put it down as uni...

Re: Can I request a Japanese translation?

It's interesting that Wii U popped Paper Mario 64 on the eshop this week. I'd love to see another one. The Thousand Year Door was a wonderful game.

Re: Platforming challenges: Rusty Bucket Bays engine room

And it doesn't help that the camera angles the room provides are like 5 degrees off centered. Completely agree with this. Was scrolling through to make this point. The tricky bits in games of that era often related to the camera. Don't get me wrong I love the old games but it wouldn't be half as tr...

Re: Villain of Yooka-Laylee?

I'll take a stab at this too: Maybe a human character who's intent on re-developing Yooka-Laylee's land, turning into flats and opening up a few branches of Weatherspoons, Costa Coffee etc. A suited and booted typical 'bad egg' would be a different twist and could have some redeeming features, such ...

Get him to dress like a policeman too. Going to be difficult for anyone to pick him out from the group then since the 50 policemen go with him everywhere.

What's the incentive for saving Guy B anyway? Maybe he's a bad egg and Mr Moneyman is the good egg?

Re: Refill backer rewards...

The flip side of this is that some of the tiers can be priced due to their exclusivity. For instance you could have the N64 cartridge and say you have one of the 250 made, or whatever the number originally was. Similar thing with the tshirts which have been restocked a few times. Don't go mad about ...

Re: what do you believe RARE is ready to announce? POLL

Activision haven't announced any follow up games since 007 Legends and that received some horrendous reviews. The older games like Bloodatone etc were pulled from digital downloads etc in 2013 and there are articles suggesting Activision are distancing themselves from the Bond franchise, another sou...

Re: what do you believe RARE is ready to announce? POLL

Might be setting myself up to be shot down here as very short on the info here, but who holds the rights to make new James Bond video games now? Could it be a new FPS, not Perfect Dark... but a new Bond?

Re: Controllers Debate

Always been a console gamer so swore by gamepads etc. Moving to PC made me realise there is a lot more flexibility for free movement with accurate mouse look and the use of multiple shortcut keys are a godsend for games like Skyrim, where you can program in plenty of your most useful left/right hand...

Re: Fart bubble attacks...?

Adding a voice to this one. It's pretty much the only Kickstarter point that put me off the game.
I mean, come on guys, nostalgia is one thing but some stuff should be left well in the past where it belongs.

Re: Steam Greenlight?

In reality I think Valve will allow it straight on to the Steam store as they have guaranteed revenue from the kickstarter digital copies sold already. Greenlight might however help give it even more exposure. Considering it's pretty certain it would be greenlit anyway I can't really see a drawback ...

£35 for me. The preview toybox thing had me. I'm not overly bothered by physical stuff like t-shirts and whatnot. Horses for courses though!
I'll certainly be playing it on PC, but it's great to see a simultaneous release across all platforms.

It's great to see such a response for the project. I was a little surprised you can get the end product by backing at only £10. Isn't that... very cheap?!

Re: Too much like Banjo-Kazooie?

The problem is that each person will want it to fall somewhere on the scale between full nostalgia B-K and it's own new identity modern platformer. Realistically they're not going to be able to please everyone, but personally I think they're getting a good balance from the initial videos. Personally...

Re: What is Rare doing?

If Rare had been working on BK... would Playtonic staff have left? The Kinect thing and the Smash Bros permission definitely support it though.

Microsoft and Rare makes me think more generic FPS shooter to be honest. I'm edging more towards a new Perfect Dark.

Re: Kickstarter Date: May 1st!‏

This is going to make me sound pretty sad, probably because admittedly I am a bit...

Do Kickstarter pages go live at a particular time on a set date or is it just whenever it's uploaded by the team? Wondering if I need to practice my 'pressing F5 repeatedly' technique... :?
