Re: Yooka-Laylee: Everything We Know (So Far)

Does anyone know what specs ur laptop will have to be to play the game? Buying a new laptop at the mo, so want to make sure i can play this game. Im guessing they're not going to be to very high? We don't know yet, but I can't imagine the specs will be too high. If I had to make an estimate, I'd sa...

Re: With NX coming in March 2017...

I certainly have nothing against the idea of a possible NX port, the more systems the merrier! I don't expect to see one, though, but that entirely depends on whether or not Playtonic can get a dev kit, how easily the game can be ported to the system, and whether Playtonic would actually want to por...

The mobile link that was posted seems to be the culprit, at least for me. Try this link instead:

Re: Incoming updates and reveals from Playtonic

If I had to guess, they'll probably go with a horizontal orientation for the artwork, and they'll probably use it for the box art for the 64-bit edition pledge rewards, packaging them similar to how N64 games were packaged.

Re: Incoming updates and reveals from Playtonic

There was a quick tweet mentioning that Phil Tossell (who worked as lead coder on Kameo and Starfox Adventures) is contributing to the project earlier today, but that's about it. The tweet(s): https://twitter.com/PlaytonicGames/status/720187338618466304 https://twitter.com/PlaytonicGames/status/7201...

Re: So, the Toybox/Toybox++

Current status is, they're working hard on the game and they're still planning to release the demo months ahead of the final game.

Re: Toybox(++)

So I reached out to Andy on Twitter about the demo and he was kind enough to respond, but there's no real info to relay. They're working hard on the game and they're still planning to release the demo months ahead of the final game. https://twitter.com/karashata/status/711258519282909184 I'm sure th...

Re: Will Yooka-Laylee be AMD compatible?

It's worth noting that a lot of PC games these days are more dependent on GPU power than CPU power, it's usually recommended when trying to build a budget PC aimed at gaming to get a cheaper, somewhat less powerful CPU and a good GPU than to get a more powerful CPU and a less powerful GPU. It's prob...

Re: Toybox(++)

It's not the Toybox, just Grant receiving the latest build to music-ize. Interesting way of doing things, but if it works, it works. Nice to see progress is happening either way, here's hoping the Toybox(++) shows up in the first quarter of 2016. (First half at the latest, maybe... I can only be so...

Re: Kirkcophony - Grant Kirkhope's original music

Huh.

Not normally my taste in music but it's certainly not bad. Definitely not what I'd expect coming from Grant, based on my limited exposure to music composed by him.

Re: Toybox(++)

Right now the only way I'm aware of to get the Toybox++ is by having pledged enough for one of the reward tiers that comes with it. I believe it was possible for a while to upgrade your pledge via Backerkit but the survey responses have since been locked so that's no longer an option. The only ones ...

Re: Toybox(++)

I hope that they'll support the 360 controller... Once we'll finally get the Toybox, I'll just want to connect that thing and get started :) I'd be slightly more concerned what sort of support they'll have for gamepads that aren't compatible with XInput. I don't doubt they'll have XInput gamepad su...

Re: The Wii U version will have off-TV play

This is an amazing concept. Why hasn't any other company done this? Probably because neither of the other two companies have controllers with screens built into them that can be used to display the game and thereby enable such a feature. Except Sony does have something similar with Remote Play, all...

Re: The Wii U version will have off-TV play

Doesn't every WiiU game have this function? Of the games I own, Splatoon and Nintendo Land do not support off-TV play due to how they use the gamepad. Splatoon uses it to display the stage map for a quick overview of which team is covering what area and for super jump and inkstrike targeting, and N...

Re: Toybox(++)

I certainly don't mind waiting, I've already got a few demos from other games I backed that I need to get around to checking out a bit more one of these days and plenty of other games to get around to playing. That said, I'm still looking forward to it when it arrives, I'm certainly a lot more hyped...

Re: Two Hearts! Joinin’ in our game grind…

On their website they have Chris Sutherland listed as the project director and Gavin Price as the managing director, so if I had to guess, those two are probably at the helm steering the ship, but I don't think they really look at their roles as leaders and more as just another part of the team (con...

Re: 64-bit Edition

I suppose it's possible they may have sourced some of the carts they would ultimately need prior to the Kickstarter campaign ending, but it seems more likely they would have waited for it to end to see how many they would ultimately need. The fact they had to add to the 64-bit edition tier *twice* t...

Re: 64-bit Edition

Assuming they managed to source 700 N64 carts and convert them all to flash drives, they'd only actually have 48 left over after all of the Kickstarter rewards are taken care of, since it's not just the 64-bit edition tier that receives them. The £675 and higher tiers also receive flash drives accor...

Two Hearts! Joinin’ in our game grind…

From the Playtonic website, in case anyone here isn't following their Twitter and/or doesn't check their site frequently for new news: http://www.playtonicgames.com/two-hearts-joinin-in-our-game-grind/ A very brief summary, two new faces have joined the team, Catarina Barros, a programmer, and Dan M...

Re: 64-bit Edition

Maybe Playtonic Games will sell the remaining units that they offered on Kickstarter in their merchandise store (for a lower price) in the future? Assuming, of course, if there ever will be one that is. I wouldn't be surprised if they do open up a merch store once they've gotten more established, b...
