Re: [SPOILERS] Galactic Girl (Playtonic's Next Game?)

Now that I've finally beaten the game, I can safely say that Playtonic is DEFINITELY building up something with this lady and Blamphibians. I knew OF this mysterious character before I expanded world 5 and got to her, but I didn't know fully who she was and what she'd say... I remember saying she'd ...

Re: GameXplain streams 1 hour of Yooka-Laylee

I kind of wish that these guys would just leave the game alone...if they don't like it then why continue playing it? Maybe just to say they beat it? Derrick seemed to be on the verge of quitting, but I find it better to see a game through to the end, to judge it as a whole before dismissing it outr...

Re: Character Voices

I guess I can see why some people would have the voices used, but I thought they were fine. I actually like Yooka and Laylee's voices, and I thought Trowzer's voice matched his personality.

Re: Ideas for worlds

Hey how's this, how about another Cloud Cuckooland? Or just a world with a random assortment of nonsense that rarely makes sense? I'm big into complete non-sequitors.

Re: Favorite Character (Potential Spoilers, depending on the character)

So far the Pagie from Hivory Towers in the Moodymaze Marsh-Area that runs away from you by kung fu-kicking you. I don't know, for some reason that one stuck with me and wouldn't let me go. :D ("Stay away, I know Origami!!") THAT was a memorable one! :P Actually, I like the Pagies in gener...

Re: Ideas for Yooka-Laylee DLC

So now that I've actually beaten the game, I'm hoping the DLC is something that picks up on the "sequel hook"-laden ending we got... Like, for example, I want to know what happened to Capital B and Dr. Quack. What book did they end up in? What kind of world is that? Or how about this: We f...

Re: RUMOR: SNES Classic Edition coming this Christmas, NES Classic discontinued because of it

Something tells me Nintendo of America isn't going to translate any Japanese-exclusive games with this one. Heck, the NES Classic Edition in North America was much different than Japan's Nintendo Classic Mini: Family Computer. Just for comparison, here are games that both versions had: - Balloon Fig...

Re: Rextro and kartos

Having beaten the game now, I can safely say, I think the hate for these characters is overrated. I haven't played ALL of Rextro's games at his arcade, but the ones I played to collect Pagies aren't bad. The only one that really annoyed me was that Kartos Kart one in world 1, otherwise I thought the...

Re: Playtonic's next project

Isn't Donkey Kong 64 just Banjo-Kazooie with more collectables? ...Well, I guess not exactly, since you can switch between characters... One major difference is that DK64 often has you do the same thing over and over for every kong, as you can't collect bananas, banana balloons, coins, blueprints o...

Re: Final Boss Fight Frustrations (obvious spoilers)

I beat Capital B! ...I have to say, it ended rather abruptly. Like when I landed the final blow, and it switched to a cutscene, I was like "wait, that's it? I mean, it was a lengthy boss fight, but... weird." I can't help but remember landing the final blow on Gruntilda in Banjo-Kazooie an...

Re: Final Boss Fight Frustrations (obvious spoilers)

Hey Eekumbokum, The final boss fight also took me some time, but slowly learning how to do it is kinda what I want from such a fight to begin with (though unfortunately you have to do the first and second phase over and over again, which are easy and take forever). That being said, it seems you are...

Final Boss Fight Frustrations (obvious spoilers)

SCREW THE FINAL BOSS FIGHT IN YOOKA-LAYLEE!! I mean, maybe I'm just bad or I don't know how to deal with those fricking bee-bombs, but holy crap I've spent three freaking hours (maybe less) trying to beat Capital B, and most of it was working to get to the point I keep dying at! I thought I could be...

Re: Yooka-Laylee: General Discussion Thread

Made more progress in Yooka-Laylee! Finding the Ghost Writers in world 4 was surprisingly easy, though the transformation of that world definitely helped. I like the gimmick of trading tokens for Pagies as well, it adds a nice change of pace to the game. And now that I've played Kartos's and Rextro'...

Re: Rextro and kartos

Having played up to world 4, I feel I can safely say I don't get the hate behind these two. Rextro's worst mini-game was the first one, which had really slippery controls. Other than that, World 3's mini-game was just "eh", while I found myself really enjoying world 2 and world 4's mini-ga...

Re: Yooka-Laylee: General Discussion Thread

It's late where I am right now, but I've made more progress in Yooka-Laylee and I REALLY want to talk about it! Since I'm beyond the third world by now, though, I feel like I should preface what I say with *SPOILERS ABOUND*! I'll try to spoiler-tag anything I think is too deep into the game or truly...

RUMOR: SNES Classic Edition coming this Christmas, NES Classic discontinued because of it

So rumor has it that there's an SNES Classic Edition in the works at Nintendo, and that's why they canceled the NES Classic Edition. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-04-19-sources-nintendo-to-launch-snes-mini-this-year Regardless of the validity of this rumor, I think how Nintendo handled the ...

Re: Zero Punctuation review for Yooka-Laylee

His claim that YL is to BK as Might9 is to MegaMan is about as far off the mark as you can get. MN9 is a steaming pile of garbage that comes NOTHING close to the source material. Yooka Laylee is a great game in its own right and comes very close to the source material. The rest of the review is mor...

I'm sorry, I just can't get behind what you're saying. I can't get behind what you are saying either. You seem to be ignoring the facts here. Yooka-Laylee amiibo for Nintendo Switch (and maybe 3DS?)

So for whatever reason, I searched "amiibo" and "Nintendo" on this forum and nothing showed up, since apparently those words were "too common" to search for. Well, even if there was an amiibo topic, I decided to make a new one, since we're still waiting on a Nintendo Sw...
