Re: What are you playing now and what do you think about it?

Hearthstone, it's fun, but I don't spend any money on packs so it's kind of frustrating as I end up playing against people who have better decks than me. :\ You can construct some pretty decent decks without legendaries, just be sure to be spending your gold on the original packs. Murlock decks in ...

Re: Day/Night Cycle?

I really don't think they should design the game around speedrunning. Speedrunners will be forced to put up with whatever the game is designed with, which is the norm. But if there was a day/night cycle, yes I do believe you should be able to manually switch between the two time periods, as well as...

Grow Home - 2015 3D Platofrmer

Has anyone else here played Grow Home ? It's a pretty fun 3D platformer Ubisoft made, available for $8. It takes around 10 hours to 100% on your first run through, which includes the main game, finding collectibles (I wouldn't compare it to Jiggies so much as maybe Jinjos but more plentiful; they're...

Re: The difficulty of the Banjo-series (exclude N&B)

Anybody willing to draw up a graph must be correct, so I'll just agree with this. Personally I find Tooie harder though, but mostly because I know Banjo-Kazooie inside out and I'm not a speed-runner (I don't have a fear of falling/dying). There's a very easy to pull off speedrunning technique you c...

Re: General Chat (& Random Thoughts)

I cannot wait until the Kickstarter. We'll be given a lot more information and it'll help us all to brainstorm ideas in a better direction. For example, when we see what the protagonists look like, we will be able to come up with interesting moves for them. At the moment, it's hard to come up with ...

Re: General Chat (& Random Thoughts)

I'm playing Banjo-Tooie through Rom in my spare time right now, and I have this distracting issue where the Textures (paths, wall colors, top layer stuff) load and then disappear when Banjo is on top of/near said spots. Anyone that runs emulators know what the problem may be? Otherwise the game run...

Re: JonTron in Project Ukelele

I don't understand the JonTron hate. He would bring so much free publicity to Project Ukulele. I think he'd do that one way or the other. I'd be genuinely surprised if he doesn't at least do an episode on it once it comes out, and I'd bet money hey'd put up a publicity video for the kickstarter onc...

SUGGESTION- Make "Playtonic Forums" link to the forum index

Now that the forums have had a minor revamp, we now have three subforums (excellent!), but there's been a few minor tweaks, too. What's been bugging me the most is that I used to use the "Playtonic Games" logo in the top left to go back to the forum's main page , but now it leads to the ho...

Re: That one Rare title you hate?

Killer Instinct 2. All of the characters played too similarly. Part of KI's flavor was the lack of normal human characters and they replaced one of the few normal humans, a dinosaur, and a flaming human with three normal humans. KI1's meta consisted of short, unbreakable combos, which wasn't that fu...

Re: JonTron in Project Ukelele

He hasn't been confirmed as such, but Playtonic and Jon did have a brief Twitter exchange about the topic. Nothing's set in stone. I mean, I wouldn't be actively opposed to it. I just thing that Playtonic should hire real Voice Actors. Unless he has a super bit-part or something. None of the classi...

Re: Clive N' Wrench needs help, FAST!

It's their first game and they're using kickstarter. There's a number of reasons to not back the game. 1) They have 0 experience with setting a budget or long-term timetable. They could easily run out of money while the game' half-completed, which would immediately cause either 2 or 3. 2) The game c...

Re: User Created Mods

dotEXE is right. The point I made about modding not being very retro was a side-point. If it was truly that easy for Playtonic to make it modder friendly, then sure go for it, but I doubt it is... It really is. Importing music, models, textures, and spawning scripts is simple enough that an intern ...

Re: Let's talk about FPS games. Will Playtonic make one?

Most of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark's success came from being the only two console shooters at the time that weren't dog- To keep things friendly, the use of swearing and vulgar language is not permitted on the Playtonic Forums; this includes attempts to sidestep the automatic profanity filters and ...

Not to be "that guy", but... To keep things friendly, the use of swearing and vulgar language is not permitted on the Playtonic Forums; this includes attempts to sidestep the automatic profanity filters and the use of slang acronyms that contain swear words. I'd edit your post quickly! :P...

Re: Not the First Time Fans have been Involved

I never knew about the other two, but I did know about Chris P. Bacon. I don't mind Playtonic holding similar competitions (it would raise hype and get people involved etc.), but I worry that making it a Kickstarter reward would allow rich people to offer, well, terrible names. And Playtonic would ...

Re: User Created Mods

I'm with Taylor. I could not care less what content some random nobody wants to add to the game. I want playtonic to make the best game possible. If allowing modding is easy and doesn't take away from the core game, by all means then whatever. But if it sacrifices even a single note from the core g...

Re: User Created Mods

I'm against making the game modder friendly. I'd rather Playtonic spent more time implementing content and levels themselves than implementing features that would allow us to make our own. I simply don't have the time and I don't trust other players to make amazing levels for me. Then don't play th...
