Now that Y-L is done, I hope they'll do a non-platform game before launching into a sequel.
That way, they can look at the genre afresh and see objectively what does and doesn't work in their first game.

First thing I did was play on the multiplayer games with my girlfriend, she was as taken with them as I was. Especially the one with the ice platforms that disappear.

A couple of things we can deduce from the answers:

* Sounds like they already are planning for their second game.
* It will likely be a different genre than YL.
* They have a very close relationship with Nintendo and Unity. This could be a hint of things to come.

I've tried a few times to get into it and I just couldn't.
I have always found it overcomplicated, boring and unbearably smug in terms of "the old games were tedious collect-a-thons, DUR HUR HUR!"

Of all the Rare IPs, this is the one I think is least likely ever to come back.
Not least since Chris Seavor was sacked and the team is moving on to very different things.

I'll snap it up at some point on Switch.

I do think they missed the bus coming after the impossibly impressive Super Mario Odyssey, but that's just the way it goes.
