Re: Questions regarding a port for the Nintendo 3DS

I'd be happy with a dedicated 3DS game if downscaling Project Ukulele is too much of a problem.

Re: Genders of the main duo

Yeah, one of each gender would be great. But it's not that important really - so long as the game is fun to play. :D

Re: Title for the game...

Hopefully it'll be something similar enough to Banjo-Kazooie to give people a good idea of what to expect, but not so similar that the lawyers will come a-knocking.

Ukulele and Bongo?

Re: Split

In a way, I'm kind of hoping they don't split, at least in the first game - the two-in-one mechanic is quite characteristic and individual to these developers. Best keep things simple while you set out your stall.

Re: Game Intro and Title

Whatever the title is, I'm happy that it's going to be chosen FOR the game when it's finished, rather than having a game developed around a title (the mistake made with Grabbed by the Ghoulies).

Re: Playtonic might collaborate with Rare?

If they get Rare/MS to get this IP. They can revive the whole series. I wouldn't hold my breath for THAT - the members of Playtonic have said over and over again that they are keeping as independent as possible for this title; they mention in the Edge interview that their first choice of partner wo...

Are they allowed to use Tengami? Nyamyam is a separate company, I can see a subtle reference at most. :)

Re: It hurts. (More unfortunate Banjo abuse)

Back to the topic at hand:

Was it actually Microsoft who said Banjo would be revealed this year? Because the only sources I've seen saying as much are third-parties (e.g. Gamenesia).
I'm only asking because there's nothing on the Rare website. :)

Re: Do Microsoft deserve to sell Playtonic games?

I have a sneaky suspicion that Playtonic will not be on Microsoft for that long - Nintendo might snap the company up (especially if they do earn an amiibo stretch goal).

You didn't realize that the person you're speaking to switched, but that's besides the point. 2) You're attacking me as a person instead of my argument, way to go? Considering how rude you've been on this thread - "Reread my post", "Show me one statistical piece...", e...

Re: It hurts. (More unfortunate Banjo abuse)

That just means that gamers that disliked Kinect bought the console. Just because it doesn't appeal to every gamer- which no game, peripheral, or console does- doesn't mean that they're abandoning it. While the total lack of games for Kinect both from third-parties AND Microsoft (their most recent ...

Yeah, that's his personal opinion. Reread my post. That Kinect wasn't even seen at E3 or Gamescom and hasn't had ONE game released since October 2014 (Fantasia Music Evolved) aside, only when it was dropped did sales for Xbone start to pick up. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/video-games/Xbox...

Re: It hurts. (More unfortunate Banjo abuse)

That's not how tech demos work. They used pre existing assets to prove a concept. The Pikmin tech demo consisted of dozens of Marios you could order around. What's the point in proving a concept on an accessory Microsoft doesn't even support any more? The Super Mario 128 demo was for the upcoming D...

Re: Let's talk about FPS games. Will Playtonic make one?

You can't gain experience until you try! I wouldn't like to see a shooter as their next game, though. I'm leaning towards a Kart Racer at the moment. Exactly - FPS is likely not the sort of thing they'd leap into straight after Ukulele. They'd likely hire a couple more with some experience just in ...

Re: It hurts. (More unfortunate Banjo abuse)

After Kinect Sports Rivals tanked in sales (resulting in a LOT of firings at Rare) and Microsoft said they'd stop focussing on Kinect as much, I'm baffled as to why this tech demo was even made. I mean, it's a waste of effort - it's never going to be a game, it's on a product they acknowledge no-one...

Re: Let's talk about FPS games. Will Playtonic make one?

According to the "Previously" section of Playtonic's site, some of the team worked on Perfect Dark Zero and no other shooter. Not sure if they'd want to start another one unless they had a bit more experience with it?
