Re: Buy BK back with Kickstarter money

That would be a terrible misuse of the funds they gathered to make the game.

Plus Microsoft would never sell it.

Re: No plans for NX

It's a bit hard to plan for a console when you don't know what it is yet.

Will pick up a boxed copy for my Wii U, it saves space on the console.

Shout out to Donkey Konga.
It was quirky, mad and amazing on multiplayer.

Re: Playtonic Universe - Problem?

I think it depends on how stylised "realistic" characters are.
It's like Link and Samus appearing with Mario and Pikachu - it works because they're not so designed in such a way that it becomes jarring.

I find these characters very creepy.
Furry-Bait pink cat with knockers... no thank you.

Re: Hopes For An Upcoming Donkey Kong 3D Game

That it would have the charm and wit of previous attempts - but NOT going as overboard with collectables as DK64.

Re: North American Localization

It really breaks the immersion when having to double check dialog for "spelling errors". They are NOT errors. Only America spells flavour, colour et al without the U; the UK, Ireland, Canada, India, Australia, in fact the whole Commonwealth uses British spellings. It would be a waste of t...

Re: What is your favorite 3D platformer?

I'll pick a less obvious one:

Super Mario Sunshine.

It was the first 3D platformer I ever played and it blew my mind. The sheer freedom to do whatever the hell you want - even now there's not much that brings that feeling to me.

I think the hype will last until after Christmas at the very least - it'll give Nintendo a boost in time for the NX launch.

If memory serves, he's just recently turned 30 (according to his birthday congratulations thread) - so he's the right age to be one.

Fun fact: in German Growlithe in called Fukano.

Re: Less Hope For Yooka Laylee?

That makes sense because it's only measuring the success of the actual Kickstarter campaign. Once that rocket's off the ground, Kickstarter has nothing to do with it. That is very true - Kickstarter only provides a platform to raise funds. What the party does afterwards is out of Kickstarter's hands.

Is Microsoft slowly winding down all of its game studios?

Not thinking of the ones that got the fanfare like Lionhead and Press Play, but the other studios which have vanished into the ether. Good Science Studio hasn't made a thing since 2012's Kinect Star Wars and its website just redirects to Hololens: http://www.goodsciencestudios.com/ Big Park hasn't b...

Re: That one Rare title you hate?

Reviving this thread because there's a game I tried for the first time only recently and I must say, I didn't take to it at all:

Perfect Dark Zero.

It felt like a mess - often the levels were very busy; they even had checkpoints on the radar so you wouldn't get lost.

Re: Yooka Laylee for NX?

If it's Wii U compatible, then that's all there needs to be.

If not, who knows - maybe Nintendo will do what they did with Bayonetta and pay for a port alongside a sequel.

Well, this will be likely just a joke, but Playtonic and Retro games just answered a fans Question about an DK64 Successor :D http://i.imgur.com/PloqGVL.jpg I wouldn´t mind if Playtonic is going to make someday a new Donkey Kong game. ^^ --- Source: https://twitter.com/RetroStudios/status/749418463...

I did until I got my N64, well into the GameCube era. Until then, I just had the GBA releases of the DKC trilogy (plus Star Fox Adventures).
