Re: Datamining the Toybox? Not so fast...

That was quite an entertaining read. Thank you Playtonic for reading this and act upon it!

It would be nice if Playtonic releases the Toybox(+) today.

Re: Pokemon Go

Same here, and no way in hell do I see this hype lasting longer than the previous Pokémania back in the late 90s/early 2000s.

Re: Donkey Kong 64 Worlds

Creepy Castle. I've always liked horror levels the most in the classic Rareware games. After that, forest themed levels.

Re: Less Hope For Yooka Laylee?

I think a game's pretty bad if its kickstarter collapses under the weight of its creators' ambition (or incomptetence), and I think those are relevent data points for this discussion. True, but that's not what this discussion is about that you started because you're interpreting my statement the wr...

Re: Less Hope For Yooka Laylee?

For every failure like Unsung Story, Yogventures, Clang, Mighty No. 9, there are excellent games that were created with Kickstarter such as Wasteland 2, Pillars of Eternity, Shovel Knight, Hyper Light Drifter, etc. The good far outweighs the bad, but the projects that failed are always getting more...

Re: Less Hope For Yooka Laylee?

Just because there are a couple of duds made with Kickstarter doesn't mean the entire crowdfunding system is bad. Yes, it sucks if you had pledged on a project and the game/movie/whatever is either never released, or it turns out to be nothing what you expected. But that's the thing with Kickstarter...

Re: The Other Worlds?

The first time they've mentioned a horror level was back in Augustus 2015 , so it's almost a given that there is one in Yooka-Laylee. As for what kind of world it could possibly be, maybe a level set in Transylvania? I'm sure the Bloodstained fans who backed Yooka-Laylee would be ecstatic if that we...

Re: Lets discuss THAT topic...

I only believe that they still need to prove themselves if they want to get back in the spotlight again. One game that reclaims their status (probably not SoT, although I believe that there's much more to it than what we saw until now). But who knows if that'll happen.... Even if Rare Ltd manages i...

Re: Playtonic's next project

I would love a spiritual successor to Conker, but part of me thinks Chris Seavor is the only person in the world who can do it. Then you will be disappointed to hear that Chris Seavor is done with making games like Conker's Bad Fur Day. He's nowadays more interested in making dark and depressing ga...

Re: Lets discuss THAT topic...

Nah, I'm not thinking that anyone is lying. I'm wondering where the true problem was. You're right about that Live & Reloaded censorship, Rare would certainly not done that to themselves. So you think it was the Stamper's, lets call it "ambitious" sellout plans and MS' mismanagement t...
