Re: N64 graphics

As far as I know you can buy the N64 graphics in the game for quite a hefty (in-game) price. So you will not be able to play the full game in N64 visuals, at least on the first run. Should N64 visuals actually improve framerate, I'd definitely go for a second round in N64 visuals though.

Re: Thank you Playtonic

Now for an interesting challenge: Can you manage to collect all notes in all worlds five times in the remaining time to 100 hours? Though it did not take me quite as long (though still long, maybe 30-40 hours?) the first time around, I definitely have played B-K for about 100 hours as well; complete...

Re: Thank you Playtonic

The interesting thing is that Banjo-Kazooie did not release until 1998 :P.

There's definitely some time while downloading the game to sneak in some more kisses for your girlfriend!

Re: Banjo-Kazooie or Banjo-Tooie?

In my opinion this is no contest, Kazooie wins on all levels. The level design is just perfect all around, super tight, carefully crafted, absolutely not fluff. Tooie has a lot of stretches where nothing of relevance can be found and Tooie is quite complicated. Kazooie is a perfect game, Tooie is ju...

Re: (Neogaf) Jim Sterling, Laura Kate Dale: Warning to Yooka-Laylee Pre-Orderers

Banjo-Tooie was at 10 frames or so, I think I will be able to cope (though I would prefer weaker graphics and better framerates), the important thing is level design. But that's another thing with this humming response: You don't even know for sure what they think is bad about the game.

Re: (Neogaf) Jim Sterling, Laura Kate Dale: Warning to Yooka-Laylee Pre-Orderers

I don't disagree with his Zelda review, he might be right with Yooka, but it is bad form to make such a video before the embargo lifts, because it sends a strong message that cannot be opposed by people who do not share the sentiment and the embargo is far enough away from launch that this cannot be...

Re: Zelda - Breath of the Wild and green tunics [slight spoilers]

Well, the shrines are the meat of the game, but there is no good reward for it. Considering the boss is super easy, you certainly don't need all the shrines. There is one thing you need to do some shrines for that you will want . Other than that it definitely is optional.

Re: Favorite worlds in BK, BT, DK64?

There's not a single level in Banjo-Kazooie I don't love. Atmosphere-wise, I love Gobi's Valley and MMM the most, difficulty-wise, Rusty Bucket Bay obviously wins, complexity-wise Click Clock Wood. But every level is just so amazingly well-done, I wouldn't know how to improve even a bit on this mast...

Re: COUNTDOWN: 13 Days Until Release (+ Character Of The Day)

Of course I do, I still think it was not a good idea. Banjo-Threeie, not Banjo-Kazooie 360 please. I dread the extra time I have to wait between release and my Kickstarter copy of Yooka arriving here, though :(. Yooka is the first game I have "preordered" since GameCube days and also the f...

Re: COUNTDOWN: 13 Days Until Release (+ Character Of The Day)

Why a remake of the Banjo series? All Banjo games except the GBA games are available right now on Xbox One, the original versions also hold up exceptionally well. If and when Microsoft finally decides to do something with Banjo, they should make a new one, not retreat what we can already play on N64...

I will read a few reviews, but I won't watch any videos. I might listen to the soundtrack should someone upload it to Youtube though. I love working to Kirkhope's amazing tunes.

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

Regrding the story about discrimination of women in technology, I had a funny encounter at a course I was responsible for. A woman who was taking the course was asking me, which additional exercise groups she could visit to repeat the content some more. It seemed a bit strange to me that she was vis...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

@Taylor: I would suggest just one thing to give a better contrast, which I typically do when moderating a forum: Separate personal opinion posts and moderation acts. So, if need be, make one posting where you give your personal advice, and then immediately afterwards, make a moderation posting, wher...

Re: Reviews: expectations and what attention will you pay them

I'll look at them but I won't care. Toybox showed me it plays like Banjo and if the leveldesign is great, I'll be super happy. Since many reviewers have no clue about good platformers nowadays, I'll not spend any thoughts on negative reviews. Also, as a backer, I have payed for the game in full anyw...

Re: Zelda - Breath of the Wild and green tunics [slight spoilers]

You do get something for beating Ganon - a star in your savefile ! Regarding the green tunic: You can get it, it is not much better than others and if you don't upgrade it (which would require quite a bit of busywork), it may even be weaker than other tunics you already have. Having 30 hearts is an ...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

Well, when talking about "middle ground" it would of course be crazy to find a middle ground in the way of literally taking the mean of the opinion "blacks are genetically predetermined to become criminals" and "for all relevant (intellectual and behavioural) accounts, there...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

If his views are so fringe, then why are so many people defending him? Everyone I disagree with is stupid or a cultist. Also they're all dudes, except the ones that aren't. And you wonder why people are so upset about SJWs. Well, that's rich. First of all, I have never said that I was wondering why...
