Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

If his views are so fringe, then why are so many people defending him? There are several reasons I think: - Due to the nature of the internet, you will quickly get the impression some viewpoint is surprisingly common, because vocal minorities aggregated from all over the world form a huge mass, eve...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

Okay, have you noticed an increase in crime. Alternatively, have crime statistics showed a difference? No to the first question, at least not significantly enough to get it reported in any newspapers I know. But what if the newspapers are downplaying it? Well, if they do, then I might not be aware ...

Re: What might happen to Playtonic if Yooka-Laylee flops...

I see a lot of angry people saying they will pirate the game. The game looks fun, most people think so, so I don't think it will flop in that sense. But I find it a bit sad and ironic that people want to play the game, but are still adamant about boycotting the company that brought it to us and cou...

I don't see any reason to "try again", and as a German myself: I don't feel Germany was ravaged. At all.

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

So what racce is he discriminating against, and how? I reject the claim that races for humans even exist, from my understanding this is not a correct classification biologically, but he discriminates against Mexicans (wall), Arabs (the two failed immigration stops), blacks (with his rental policies...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

Voting numbers disagree. And yes, the vast majority of backers are from the USA. Well, the US result is an outlier produced by the fact that one of only two viable parties somehow turned into a pool of racist and religious nutjobs, whereas the only alternative party has put one of the most uninspir...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

I'd assume the standard ~15% of the audience will be far-right people. Voting numbers disagree. And yes, the vast majority of backers are from the USA. Well, the US result is an outlier produced by the fact that one of only two viable parties somehow turned into a pool of racist and religious nutjo...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

maybe Playtonic won't refund because they realise that the project worked thanks to the "racist" because without them Yooka laylee would never happend, and now they realise how the f****d up and they want to block people on twitter, devs putting a lock so other people that are not followe...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

So what did he say that's racist again? Or did you read three article titles on buzzfeed and feel qualified to tell us how racist Jontron is? They've made a political statement by removing Jontron that goes against their very own motto, and not everyone wants to lay down and take it like you do sir...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

What is political about the game now? I mean, it is obviously poo-poo that people make such a fuss over such a minor role that Jafri played in Yooka-Laylee, but no matter if he is included or not, this is certainly not a political role in the game. I see no reason why Yooka-Laylee should have a poli...

Re: That one Rare title you hate?

Disregarding games, that disqualify for their choice of genre, i.e. Perfect Dark + Zero, GoldenEye, Viva Pinata series (though they are SO good, that I still enjoyed them), Kinect Sports series, I'd say it's Nuts & Bolts. Not because I think it's bad, but because it made me so sad.

Re: Nintendo eShop Selects Release Possible?

I would open it, because I do not intend to ever sell it, but yeah, I'm in the same boat. Due to the Kickstarter, I will receive a Wii U code for Yooka-Laylee anyway, but I would love to have a physical copy.

Nintendo eShop Selects Release Possible?

Nintendo has started an initiative to bring popular eShop releases to retail stores under the name "Nintendo eShop Selects". Yooka-Laylee would be absolutely perfect for that program, considering you still seem to not plan on a retail release on your own. Please get into contact with Ninte...

Re: No Banjo Kazooie 3. Rare is officially dead.

Looking over this thread, it kinda saddens me how most of the Rare fanbase possess this "if it isn't a new Banjo/Conker/platformer it sucks" mindset. Even after the buyout Rare didn't begin lose their creativity until Kinect Sports but because none of their games (barring maybe N&B bu...

Re: Nintendo's BK spiritual successor

Nintendo has enough platformer franchises to not need to create a new one. Yoshi in particular would be an incredible fit for a collectathon platformer, considering Yoshi is the 2D pioneer of the genre.
