Re: Show the Kickstarter you want!

Yeah I think making the game as available as possible is a good idea since that will build up a bigger audience for future games. Especially since I think the Nintendo and Playstation audiences are the most receptive audiences for 3D platformers (I mean has any 3D platformer ever been really success...

Re: Show the Kickstarter you want!

Every time I see this reference, I cry a little. Please. Please make it stop. It's too much now. Please. It's just a little harmless fun. And it would be a really cool thing that would make a lot of people happy. Happiness is good, isn't it? Anyway the topic asked what I wanted the stretch go...

Re: Show the Kickstarter you want!

Base Goal: Wii U version of the game Stretch Goal 1: PS4 and XB1 versions of the game Stretch Goal 2: Hidden easter eggs throughout the game that homage Playtonic's history with Rare (including an unnamed goldfish who taps on his bowl three times) Stretch Goal 3. Additional transformations (assuming...

Re: Will a goldfish tap the side of his bowl three times?

That blowfish makes me want to go bowling for some reason. Rare shoulda used him back when they made the best bowling game that's ever been, ever ever ever, on any platform.

Re: User Created Mods

I really doubt this game will involve any kind of official modding element. The point of Ukulele is to give us Playtonic's vision, not a community's vision. Any time they might spend building customizable level editors and whatnot could instead be spent bringing more of their vision to life. However...

Re: Conker’s Big Reunion coming to Project Spark April 23rd

So long as this episodic series doesn't stop the real sequel to Conker called: Conker's Other Bad Day from getting seeing the light of the day, then I'll be okay with it. The thing is, the chances of us getting a sequel any time soon were already pretty much zero. The Conker series is not something...

Re: lives or no lives?

I feel like lives are an outdated concept. Back when games were short enough to beat in one go, they used to indicate the number of tries you had until you have to start over from the beginning, and even without dying you would just keep replaying the same levels over and over again anyway (except y...

Re: Will these characters be able to transform??

I really hope transformations return! I loved that aspect of Banjo-Kazooie, it was one of its most unique gameplay mechanics. Most other 3D platformers just give you powerups, but I think B-K's wacky transformations were way more entertaining.

Re: HEY GUYS NINTENDOS MAKEING PHONE GAMES ALONG WITH THEIR

If they decide that mobile phone games aren't enough for them and they want a true Nintendo experience, I think that means they've graduated from being casuals and have become at least moderately interested in games for reasons beyond killing time. Honestly I'd say this is a better way to appeal to ...

Re: What did you think of Nuts and Bolts?

I actually spent a good deal of time playing it yesterday and had a blast. Not just messing around with different vehicle types, but also running around on foot and trying to beat challenges in unconventional ways with just the wrench. It's a great game for dicking around and trying to "break t...

Re: cancelled rare games re-imagined?

As was discussed in another topic, Donkey Kong Racing/Sabreman Stampede would be a great canceled game concept to revive.

Re: chris houlihan room?

I think a secret room with the names of high-paying backers would be cool, so long as the room has other nice details to it and a logical reason for why there are names everywhere, and so long as everyone is able to access the room regardless of whether or not they are a backer.

Re: Will a goldfish tap the side of his bowl three times?

I had a dream last night that I was an inconspicuous, unnamed goldfish. I kept feeling this strange urge to tap on the side of my bowl three times. I just knew it would make the world a better place.

Incidentally, I woke up this morning with a badly bruised forehead.

Re: The 'What Do You Do' Thread!

I was recently laid off so now I've been spending my days wasting away playing video games. Oy... Hate that, it gets so depressing when you don't have work to do. But then if you hate work it's just as bad. :P At least I have some savings in the bank. Savings I will gladly give up for Project Ukule...

Re: Microsoft apparently dedicating 2015 to celebrating Rare

I still have faith that the guys at Rare can pull off something awsome if given the chance, but right now the vast majority of my hype belongs to Playtonic.

Re: So, it gets on Wii U. Which controller?

The gamepad is a great controller and has functioned very well for every game I've played except Super Smash Bros (in which case I use a pro controller to spare my gamepad the abuse), so I intend to use that. As for gamepad features, it'd be nice if it let us view the HUD and totals and whatnot so w...

Re: The main characters need a cool home.

Donkey Kong Country and Banjo-Kazooie both started with the characters leaving their home, so I wouldn't be surprised if that happens again here. And if it does happen I'm sure their home will be chock full of cool details just like always.

Re: Spiritual Successor to Donkey Kong Racing/Sabreman Stamp

The 360 is still a good machine to own for Rare fans. 1. Banjo-Kazooie HD (via XBLA) 2. Banjo-Tooie HD (via XBLA) 3. Jetpac Refueled (via XBLA) 4. Conker: Live and Reloaded (via backwards compatibility) 5. Grabbed by the Ghoulies (via either backwards compatibility or XBLA) 6. Perfect Dark HD (via X...
