Project Ukulele Kickstarter Countdown

Postby rocho » Thu Apr 23, 2015 2:02 am

OK people here we are! The final days to Project Ukulele reveal and Kickstarter campaign are getting close! Here is a clock assuming Playtonic will start the Kickstarter at 6am UK time. (If we get a time confirmation I will update the clock).

We can talk about the days, hours, minutes, seconds left and maybe we can do a "The Twelve Days of Christmas" song with Ukulele stuff hahaha.

Let's start with day 1 today. Someone can give another phrase and we will choose the phrase of the day that has to go with the next day phrases.

On the 1st day of Countdown
Playtonic sent to me:
A Pagie in a Palm Tree

Edit: Clock updated to match playtonic.com countdown clock, add 5 minutes to the time.

I've been nearly dying from anticipation. This next week is going to go by so slow.

And then begins the long wait for the official release.

2. http://www.grantkirkhope.com/Balor.mp3 Balor, Kingdoms of Amalur

4. http://www.grantkirkhope.com/Banjo%20Ka ... 20USED.mp3 Unused Banjo Nuts and Bolts tune

Not ukulele songs but most of them come from the latest Grant Kirkhope work, so you can have a taste of what comes in a week. There is a variety of styles here. What style will Playtonic get for Ukulele?

i'm too hungover to add to the song but i'll chat. What exactly is happening on friday? Is there a games conference that playtonic are taking part in or are they putting together their own presentation. Also, where will we watch it?

If they're planning to do some sort of presentation before they make the Kickstarter campaign go live, they haven't said anything about it yet, and I'm not aware of any conferences they could be doing a presentation at. As far as I can tell they'll probably set the Kickstarter live and announce such on their social media accounts so anyone following them can check it out right away. There will most likely be some sort of video presentation on the campaign's front page that will show off a bunch of what they've been working on so far as well as explaining the campaign goals, and I recall they had Grant Kirkhope make some music to use in the video, so we'll also get a taste of what sort of music we can expect from him in the game.

If they do decide to do some sort of presentation before making the campaign go live, I hope they at least put the recording up on YouTube after it's over so people who can't catch it live can watch it later. I wouldn't be too surprised if they dropped it on their social media accounts as a last-minute surprise right before they launch the campaign.

And how are they going to do it?
Conference? Website Post?

I think our safe bet is stick to their social media and wait for that glorious link to the Kickstarter campaign. I think most of the new info will be posted there and maybe an update to their webpage.

Of course they want everyone to know they are doing the kickstarter so you should SUBSCRIBE TO THEIR NEWSLETTERS for their Email News as they will send a shout out via email for sure.

They sent this the day the Kickstarted date was announced:

I'm expecting them to just put up the kickstarter page and post to their social media that it's live. The kickstarter should have a video explaining everything, or several. At least that's how past successful kickstarters work anyway.
