I wonder if we really did have the genders of the characters wrong all along. Personally, I'm fine with whatever genders they've chosen for Yooka and Laylee.

What ever happens, though, some of the reactions will definitely be the best parts.

That would be false advertisement. If they change it people might argue that that's not the duo they paid money to back.

The security question while signing up for this very forum-

"Q: Who is the green bloke?
A: Yooka."

Excerpt from the Kickstarter page-

"Our new heroes, Yooka (the green bloke with no pants) and Laylee (the wisecracking lady-bat with the big nose)"

So there you have it. Unless Playtonic changed their minds, both characters have until now been referred to officially by gender, multiple times. I'm indifferent either way, but them's the facts.

I dont see anything wrong to see Yooka as a Girl or the Laylee as a Boy. Think it would be cool to see Yooka as Girl as I dont see many female heroes. Also viewing the edited version of Yooka which made the character looking more slimmer and nimble it would make sense.

I would say Yooka should be female and Laylee Male

The designs of the characters do not look feminine or masculine, but the names both sound feminine.

Do genders really matter? Both could be male, both could be female, one could be male and the other female (and which one is which is interchangeable). Does it all matter?

Now that I think about it, it'd make me laugh if Playtonic kept referring to them as he/she at different times just to make it really ambiguous. It'll be a running joke.

Laylee was referred to as 'he' in the Kickstarter video by none other than the designer, Steve Mayles, himself.

So... this discussion is basically a 'ONLY official "official" proof of genders without adding known confirmation from Playtonic' kind of thing?

The genders have already been confirmed, why still go on?

Seriously, why was this bumped? Can we just... delete the whole thing? I suppose I could.

Edit: I guess I CAN'T. Thread creators can't delete threads??
