I will just repeat myself: We waited 15 years for Banjo-Threeie. There was nothing that could ever come close to this. I WANT their game to be the (re skinned) Banjo game that never was until now. Due to the other characters & story, it will be different enough.

I honestly wouldn't mind if the game was too much like Banjo-Kazooie. We hadn't had a game like BK for a loong time, and seeing how successful the Kickstarter is, people obviously want it.

I'm worried of the opposite. I hope this doesn't end up feeling like some Spyro game or something. This is one of the few times where I would absolutely like a rehash.

I'm sure Yooka-Laylee will have its own identity, but for the purpose of the Kickstarter they really wanted to communicate the fact that this is indeed a BK spiritual successor, thus the logo similarity and very BK-esque music, etc.

But I think going forward the game is going to develop its own identity a bit, stand on its own two feet and all that.

The most fun thing about BK to me was unlocking new pathways, levels, and secrets in the overworld. I will be sorely dissapointed if there is no overworld in Yooka-Laylee--I might just just stand outside Playtonic's doorstep and light myself on fire...or, you know, maybe just a bag of zhit.

Can this thread vanish already, please? There's no such thing like "too much like Banjo-Kazooie".

I've played Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, and Donkey Kong 64. (Along with several other collect-o-thon games.) They all play differently. I don't doubt PlayTonic will figure out something new. Heck, they've already explained that collecting pagies will make the levels larger, expanding out new areas to explore. That was never in any of these games.

Seems it may also play mostly like Banjo-Tooie, going by what Mr. Kirkhope was saying before "Project Ukulele" was a thing, which I have no problem with. The reason being is that I would expect the smaller projects like A Hat in Time, Happy Hell, and Lobodestroyo to be more like the ever-smaller "Kazooie". Heck, even Clive 'N' Wrench, if that finally gets off the ground.

I think the first couple of hours should be everything we remember and love. After that i think it should evolve and develop into it's own identity.

I for one think it's hilarious we have "TOO MUCH LIKE BK" and "NOT ENOUGH LIKE BK" threads on the front page at the same time.
