I agree with OP.

If you listen and judge them on quality, they are both 10/10, but Grant's track is way more fitting as it just screams BK and David's track just doesn't.

I hope Grant will make all level, hub and cutscene music, while David makes minigame music, etc. :)

It seems like a waste of good music to only use David Wise's music in minor minigames. I think it would fit perfectly in an African savanna.

We don't know much about the game, so I wouldn't say it doesn't fit. People will get used to the mix, even though Dave is heavily associated with Donkey Kong Country music.

I'm 100% certain Grant is doing all the level themes (and the main theme) and David is doing the music that's used for mini-games, challenges, etc. Maybe David would also be doing music used inside certain enclosures (like, an NPC's house for example). We also haven't seen what Steve Burke is working on. Is he just doing sound effects/mumble mastering/etc.?

Well, they personally describe it as a "Rare-vival" not a Banjo Kazooie revival, and Wise's music is VERY DKC.

I ultimately would like to have a mix of music from both Kirkhope and Wise. Both make great music and I don't think they could go wrong with them.

Yooka-Laylee should be its own game with its own feeling. It shouldn't try to be like Banjo-Kazooie, it shouldn't try to be like Donkey Kong, it should be like Yooka-Laylee.

Trust me when I say this, they will have music fit for the levels they were made for. I'm sure the team has in mind which musical style fits whichever level or aspect of the stage.

I reckon this topic should be locked to be honest. This is the equivelant of stabbing our good man Wise in the back for no reason. Do your job Taylor!
