64-bit Edition

Postby moritasan2040 » Fri May 01, 2015 7:08 pm

So, this would be a version of Yooka-Laylee that plays on an actual N64? It's not just for show?

Pretty sure, based on the Kickstarter, it's basically a USB drive that LOOKS like an N64 cartridge, and has the game on it.

The game would by no means be able to run on an N64 due to hardware limitations. You would plug it into your PC and play it from your faux N64 cartridge.

No, if I'm understanding it correctly, it is a 64GB USB Flash Drive with the looks of a N64 Cart.

Am I the only one who thinks that it is a shame that the 64Bit Edition requires a pledge of almost 500€ + additional tax when shipped to Germany? I mean I wanted one of these really badly but I just cannot afford it. Isn't there a way to offer this at a cheaper price? The amount of people who would want this reward should make it possible to produce them at a chepaer price so why did they have to make it so exclusive? :(

It would have to be remade from scratch. That's making two games at once. I'd rather have Playtonic give full attention to the main game.

Yeah I really want that N64 cart but I'm not sure yet if I can afford to plunk down that much cash...we'll see.

Is a bit steep for a USB stick. How many of those were there?

As much as I would like to have the physical representation of an N64 version, that is a lot of money to spend.

They got new ones. They make some more but same price.

So if someone wants to get this, you can grab it again.

Ah. Thanks everyone. I was pretty shocked when I first saw it, but it makes sense now. :)

Oh well, we can grab this thread again.
Not quite as intended but a N64-Shader look of the game.

Then when we need more nostalgic we can just change to the old N64-look!
I'm in for it!
