Would you welcome a "Start work on second Playtonic game" stretch goal?

One thing Playtonic had talked about was eventually have two separate teams, working on two separate projects, possibly releasing in opposite years, so they'd have a new game out every year.

It looks like The current top stretch goal of 1 million will be reached very soon (Possibly in within the first day?) They could add more stretch goals, but wouldn't they reach a point where they wouldn't want to do anymore with the game? They'd said they only want a small group of around 15 people working on it, as a small group is more versatile, and each member is free to experiment more, and iterate quickly to something the rest of the group can agree on. There's only so much you could do without expanding the team (Which they are very much against doing) or delaying the game.

Assuming this kickstarter goes above and beyond what Playtonic was hoping for, as in many times more than they originally wanted (Which it looks like it just might. ) Would you be open to a stretch goal along the lines of "Get a second team to start working on Playtonic's second game"?

It would give us something to look forward to, if we knew we wouldn't have to wait too long after Yooka-Laylee for the second game.

Any thoughts?

Yeah why not along as it doesn't distract the first game.

No.

They're only a small team, they need to focus on this game.

The only exception would be if they released a 3DS centred accompanyment to this one (like a 2D platformer or something).

I'd rather they wait until completely finishing Yooka-Laylee before starting work on something else (they still don't even have a full N64 sized team yet).

However, I would love it if one of the stretch goals was that they'd reveal the intended main character of their next game (who I assume is already and NPC in Yooka-Laylee).

It's better that Playtonic goes to Kickstarter again to fund a second game, after they're done working on Yooka-Laylee.

Let's get one game out the door before we get too excited.

Kickstarter backers having their money put toward some unknown game is not a good idea. Better to put the money into the game that people are actually backing.

They need to finish the first game first. I don't want resources taken away from this game.

Uh, no... I'd like them to no lose focus when it comes to this game. I don't want a Square Enix situation, where they announce a whole bunch of games and it takes forever to get them made.

Finish the first game, then look towards the future.
