I believe I really like these characters the way they are now, I had to get used to Laylee's nose but after a few days I already became accustomed to these characters the way they are now. Adding in a lot of personality is what will let these characters live!

Somehow Yooka makes me think back to 'Gex', remember that one? Those weren't the greatest games. ofcourse Gex is a gecko and Yooka is a chameleon so there is a difference. Now make it work!

edit:
I believe Gex altered his clothing every level, look it up.

I forgot about Gex. Yeah, he did have different outfit every world. I only played it s little bit at my cousin's house as a kid. It was kind of fun I guess. Not too impressive. He was like a spy or something? A secret agent?

cunky kongs invisible powers where never negatively impacted by having clothing on!

plus i hate anthropomorphic animal characters who are naked! if your going to humanise them give them clothing, like sonic has shoes & gloves but no other article of clothing! letting it all flap in the wind at the speed of sound XD that (even the DK characters dont like pants! & it drives me nuts!...get it lol)

that & it always seams like hay leave the mail characters nude & put clothing on the female characters that always buged me as well! men where clothing to! :/

at least kazooie was in the backpack most of the time :P

I very much agree with OP's point, but I am also smitten by the current design and can't think of a way to properly distinguish transformations humorously while retaining the current less-is-more design.

On a tangential note, anyone else see the movie, Rango? Hilarious. Johny Depp as a latently gay, thespian chameleon in a Hawaiian shirt, stranded in a Nevada desert.

With all this clothes/no clothes/some accessories/whatever arguments going around. Wouldn't it be much easier to add a wardrobe screen that lets you dress up the characters how you want? Everyone will be happy.

Adding additional features that only a fraction of the user-base will even touch is never "easier".

I don't really care if Yooka wears clothes or not. I want the characters to look like Playtonic intended. Its not like Steve Mayles is designing characters for the first time here, I trust he knows what he is doing ;)
