Orchestral Track

Postby Blob55 » Sun May 03, 2015 5:13 pm

Please make it optional, as I find most games do Orchestral tracks VERY badly and I'd rather hear the classic midi tunes, which make it sound more Banjo Kazooie-like.

It would be fun if when you enable the N64 mode, you'd get old school midi soundtrack as well.

The "midi sound" is one of the things that should be left in the 90s. Live is always more beautiful than samples. What makes it sound bad is not positioning the microphones properly. Too far away and it gets washed out. The microphones need to close to the instruments so we get that cartoony Banjo sound we all know and love.

You know that the actual tunes of the game are orchestral?
They are not recorded with a live orchestra, but the sounds are from samples of orchestral sound.

So I don't get your point, how you want them?

Live orchestral music is better; there's no argument here. If you liked Nuts & Bolts' music, you'll love a live orchestra in Yooka-Laylee.

As long as it retains the same style and feeling of the old tunes, I'm all for an orchestral soundtrack. Based on the two samples we've gotten so far (which were orchestral, btw, sampled, but still) it sounds amazing!
