Or people just prefer little to no voice acting in games. I do. I play games with character lines less than 5 words for the most part. Super Smash Bros, War Rock, Mario, Pokemon, Yoshi, Kirby, Zelda, Burnout, Need For Speed (to be fair the last two use realworld songs for a soundtrack) are some of the franchises where there are not many words spoken in the games and I've enjoyed them.
When I watch clips of Sonic games, I just think it's weird to hear him talking English to me. Maybe I am just not a fan of the voice actor and don't think it fits Sonic, IDK.
I can't really think of many games that I've grown up with where a lot of voice acting was used. More franchises coming to mind: Pikmin I don't recall much talking in, Glover, F-Zero, Animal Crossing (OK, this one does have voice acting, but not in a conventional sense), Mario Kart, Mario Party.
Woaaaah, it finally came out!
