Or people just prefer little to no voice acting in games. I do. I play games with character lines less than 5 words for the most part. Super Smash Bros, War Rock, Mario, Pokemon, Yoshi, Kirby, Zelda, Burnout, Need For Speed (to be fair the last two use realworld songs for a soundtrack) are some of the franchises where there are not many words spoken in the games and I've enjoyed them.

When I watch clips of Sonic games, I just think it's weird to hear him talking English to me. Maybe I am just not a fan of the voice actor and don't think it fits Sonic, IDK.

I can't really think of many games that I've grown up with where a lot of voice acting was used. More franchises coming to mind: Pikmin I don't recall much talking in, Glover, F-Zero, Animal Crossing (OK, this one does have voice acting, but not in a conventional sense), Mario Kart, Mario Party.
Woaaaah, it finally came out! :o

I'm against voice acting. I can read faster than it takes for them to read the dialog to me. That way, I can get back to gaming asap.

Call of Duty and GTA 5 do have voice acting. If they only had subtitles there would been some people who refused to buy them. Especially when other similar games have voice acting.

The fans and critics of Monkey Island 3 overwhelming agreed that it was better than #1 & #2 because of the voice acting. This made the humor much funnier as the actor could add to the humor of the joke in the way they portrayed it.

If I wanted to image what characters were saying, I'd read a book not play a game. If imagination is what makes games so great, why not go back to text adventures?

I'm one of many who don't buy games without voice acting. I enjoyed Conker way more than Banjo because of its voice acting. I'm supporting this game because there aren't enough of these kinds of games.

Here's a the main reason I don't like mumbling. The mumbling in Banjo doesn't sound organic. It sounds like someone scratching a turntable. Like someone playing around with an audio file. It just takes me out of the game.

There can be a unique mumble for every line of dialogue, since there are no more memory limitations now.
