I would like to apologize for a previous post of mine that was a bit rude. It was late and I wasn't really paying attention.

However, I would like to agree with several other posts following mine concerning the matter. You can't claim something as an industry standard without proof to back it up. Even then it's mostly subjective as everyone has different tastes and opinions. For some games it works, for others not so much. For Banjo-Kazooie (and Yooka-Laylee), I believe it's the latter. For this type of I feel game text works better as most people will probably read it faster than the va's can speak it, meaning you get back to the game quicker. Which, for a 3D platformer, I think is really important.

I can't believe this thread made it past the first few posts honestly.

Oooh, I liked this:

To me A) Demonstrates potential of poor voices, especially if, as mentioned before, the backers who got the voicing package are terrible. B) Shows that yes, you can voice the characters yourself if you want - it's not that crazy of an idea if someone put it on youtube, right?

So for the 10 or so people (who pledged money for the Kickstarter) who will voice a character in the game, how will go about being trained by Chris Sutherland? Will it be via internet connection or will we have to personally fly over to the UK to be trained by Chris? Anyone know? I pledged over $5,000 for this opportunity. Does anyone know how big my character's role could be?

Yeah I think the BIGGEST thing is the "Be-in-the-game." Mumble speak can hide all sins, but there is nothig more cringey than bad voice acting.

I'm thinking the training is over the internet. I remember reading some things about "Sending the audio" and the team will let you know if it sounded good. I want to also say they said you need to have good recording equipment. They also never mentioned travel expenses, like they did in the Orchestra one.

You can skip past spoken dialogue just as quickly as "yar yar yar."
