What if Microsoft sold you all Banjo Kazooie back?

Postby oceanslost » Wed May 06, 2015 3:34 am

Would you take it?

How would this influence the future of either Banjo or Yooka?

Personally I'm really excited for the new characters and style, but at the same time it would make my year if you got the BK rights back. Just want to hear some Playtonic answers to some fun "What-ifs"

Of course they would, but it's as likely as a blind person seeing a snowman in a blizzard.

I would never go to Microsoft. As easily as they'd give it to you, as easy as it would be to ruin it and gamers' hearts again. Hell no. Yooka-Laylee is the new B&K, Playtonic is the new Rare. No matter what Microsoft's Rare slaves wave in front of us anymore.

EDIT: Just realized you meant if they got the rights back :? ... If they got the rights back... it'd be worth checking out, but I'd probably still support mostly Y-L

Any Banjo Kazooie game sold only on XBox is a game I'll never play. So, there's that... But if I ever had a chance to play it on a gaming console, then sure thing, I'd probably pick it up.
Woaaaah, it finally came out! :o

The next kick starter should be to raise enough funds to buy the rights of Banjo-Kazooie from Microsoft.

Don't expect anything less than tens of millions of dollars if Microsoft would sell the Banjo IP. Also, it's heavily rumored that Rare Ltd is making a "Banjo-Threeie". So, even if someone would have the money, and the desire to buy the Banjo IP. It will be too late if Rare Ltd is making a new Banjo game.

I'm actually really enjoying seeing a new world come to life. Banjo-Kazooie is fantastic, but the possibilities of Yooka-Laylee aren't constrained to Banjo's universe -- there's a whole lot more that can be done. Seeing Yooka-Laylee come together is like a window back in time to the early .

Plus the whole possibility of Banjo Kazooie not being dead thing.

I don't want to be THAT guy but, shouldn't this topic be in another thread like Past Glories?

I think that Microsoft's going to hold on to B-K for all it's worth now. With the huge success of the Yooka-laylee kickstarter and interest growing for the 3D platformers of old, they might see the series as profitable again.

So it would be like Capcom making a new mega man.
