Dynamic Level Ideas

Postby John » Fri May 08, 2015 4:41 am

So here are the dynamic levels from BanjoKazooie, BanjoTooie, and DK64:

Click Clock Wood - Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter
Hailfire Peaks - Lava and Ice sides
Fungi Forest - Day and Night

Do you lot have any ideas for any other dynamic levels?

Here are some things I've already seen mentioned on the forums:
Weather Level - Thunderstorm/Rain/Rainbow/Hail
Rainforest Level - Wet and Dry Season
Time Level - Ancient and Future versions
Underwater Level - Bright Coral Reef and Deep Dark Trench versions

This same thing is being discussed in the "4 Seasons" thread, maybe combine them?

Anyway I can't come up with anything original, but I like the Time Idea, it's Sonic CD-ish, and other than that hasn't really been done.

that time thing is really cool. tho it doesn't neccesarily have to be a 100 years in between. perhaps only a few. so you first visit the stage in the future where you meet a character (mom) with three kids, and suddenly she says "oh it's you, you're the one who saved my children!" and of course you have no idea what she's talking about before you head back to the past of the stage and thereby can save her children. something like that, or i don't know. Haven't had the time to thnk this through just yet.
