As long as the DLC is something worthwhile like new levels/extended story and not anything that's just fluff like alternate character skins for Yooka and Laylee or a boss-rush (ok some people don't find boss-rushes to be fluff but I do), I will support it.

It could just be a much shorter self contained adventure. Like a 2 workd game or something with it's own villain.

Does it make sense? The games aren't the same genre and YL doesn't have a big publisher.
Few of the Playtonic staff have the same roles in N&B that they do on YL.
Not to mention, that was almost a decade ago, in a world where this type of technology and economics change multiple times a year.

Not to mention the fact that the entire reason they left Rare and formed Playtonic was to do things their own way.

I just read all 137 posts in this thread (for some reason), as well as the 13 posts in , and my main thought is:

I agree with the concerns about the DLC -- particularly that they realistically will come up with some ideas during development of the main game and that has potential to negatively influence the main game -- but I trust these guys and I'm sure they'll do right by us (and our millions of dollars).

I ultimately hope the culture in that Playtonic development room is what the backers hope it is. That the backers, and in the end the players, will get a polished and full exciting game FIRST(all the love & sweat poured into a masterpiece), then the development of DLC will start later and from a clean slate(this gives them to introduce new character from other universes too), no "That's an awesome idea! We'll hold that content off from the full game until we start on the DLC" during development of Yooka-Laylee.

I'm all up for recycling old ideas and getting inspiration from them but not consciously holding off "good stuff" just because they weren't confident in themselves as developers to be creative and have fun developing new content.

I look up to these guys and place my hopes and faith that they are different and that their culture respects the player as a human audience that respects their work not just people with money who want to see what they can do to impress them. :/

I have my worries because their human(this is money they ultimately live off of to eat and survive), but I think this close of a connection with their audience gives me faith that they respect us. :) And wouldn't lead us on to believe their the type of group who wouldn't do that shady DLC stuff and end up doing so, I would lose(as am sure many of us would) much trust in them & I WOULD take it personally.

@Taylor sorry if i sounded rude but i was responding to what someone said.

& no i didn't "contradicted myself with my bias for Nintendo"
amiibo is & can be different from normal DLC if done right. getting a simple reward for owning a figure & unlocking a hat for example is not a big deal.
& no im not talking a yooka-laylee amiibo im talking about say a mario amiibo unlocking a mario hat, something that would of never originaly been put into the game but can be in the game as a little nintendo extra. plus amiibo or physical not digital & can be rebought years latter if need be unlike digital DLC. so no its not "contradictory or biased" at all.

remember yooka-laylee 1st, repeat FIRST! DLC will be free to backers everyone else will have to pay & with the word 1st means clearly theres more planed.
