Mint Condition N64 Cartridges for Playtonic.

Postby Dracul JOSHI » Sat May 16, 2015 2:50 pm

So, apparently they have trouble finding Mint Condition N64 Cartridges.
I figured, why not crowdsource these as well?

I just went through my stack of loose N64 games and fount 7 Cartridges that are in mint condition and I wouldn't mind separating with, because they are either bad games (such as sport games) or duplicates (I have 3 DK64 cartridges). The front stickers are scratched on some of them, but they get replaced anyway and the back stickers are perfect as well as the cartridge as a whole.

I also found one cartridge that is is mint condition, but I was stupid enough to put a non-removable sticker on top of the back sticker, so if they need perfect back stickers, it would not work. (except if they used it for mine, since it has my name on it XD)

Mint condition, as in just good quality cartridge, or does it need to have the original stickers in good condition as well? Most of my carts are fine and non-blemished by marker/stuff, but the stickers are bad because we were kids and ugh.

I wonder why it hasn't been considered to 3D print something similar to a N64 Cart, something they could get a hinge on and put the flash drive inside, or some other kind of Flash Drive holder.

The more I think about it, the more it almost kinda makes me sad that actual, out-of-print, (presumably) playable games may be destroyed to make these.

Heh, maybe the "exciting detail" they can't reveal yet is that 64-bit backers will also receive the "guts" that used to be in their cartridge.
No, not all Xbox owners are dudebros who love grey-and-brown PvP FPSes. Please feel free to quit stereotyping now.

What's the point of sending Playtonic game cartridges? And why wouldn't guys funded over 2.5 million dollars be able to get their own?

Tomato-tomăto, apparently I have lower standards for "mint condition" anyway. And again, better precedent as far as I can see it for them to get the cartridges themselves (or directly from those who qualify to recieve the flashdrive). I politely disagree and hope we can still be friends. :P

Just because they said "one person scrambles to find them" doesn't mean they won't find em.
Pretty sure there are lots and lots of cartridges (games) to be found in stores and online. It just takes time.
Also you probably get the cartridge close to release, so theres 17 months for them to find em, and put flashdrives in. Not sure how they go on about the flashdrive thing. They could probably outsource it, as I think it would take them way too much time.
(Which is better spent developing the game yadda yadda)
